Do you think it's important to earn a Bachelor's in Nursing? I want to hear what Nurses with and without a BSN think and why. Do you think it matters if someone who has been in the field for 15yrs or more?

Have you already read through the very many threads on this same topic? I think you'll find your answer pretty easily if you do :)

I think it's important if you plan on changing jobs or hospital systems. Otherwise, I don't think it is that useful at this point in time. I am a new ADN graduate.

There are plenty of ADN's still working as RNs, but some areas in the country are demanding BSN's, some even for their current employees! So if you can afford it, getting a BSN is a good idea for enhanced job flexibility and security. Those of us staying as ADN's are taking our chances that we will be able to work as an RN without a BSN. An ADN degree does limit job opportunities and promotions so your skills, personality and connections will be even more important than someone with a BSN.
