Returning to the classroom.....

Looking to start school this fall and comparing 2 schools so far, WGU and OU. My questions are how are you guys finishing this program in 6 months? When they say a "term" how many months are in 1 term? How many classes are included in 1 term? I am trying for the least expensive route and least amount of classes if that makes sense.........and where is WGU located?

People are finishing the program in 6 months or less by taking only a week or two to complete each course. The program is self-paced, so each class can be completed in a few days or a few months, depending on how swiftly the student moves. A term is six months in length.

How many classes are included in 1 term? I am trying for the least expensive route and least amount of classes if that makes sense.........and where is WGU located?
Each term has an arbitrary minimum of 12 credits, which usually amounts to four courses. However, if you finish these four courses early, your program mentor will permit you to accelerate your coursework by adding classes to your term. I completed my 12 credits early, and through accelerating courses I ended up earning 27 credits during my first term. Another regular poster (featherzRN) earned 50 credits in less than four months.

I have a question for you, I just started WGU May 1st and am getting ready to take my first OA, A&P I is what I am taking. There is so much material and I have gone over all of it, I wanted to know if you have any suggestions of how to simplify things as I move on?

I took A&P I and II at a local community college in 2007 and WGU accepted it for transfer credit last year. FeatherzRN would be a better member to ask since she actually completed WGU's version of A&P.

Thank You, I took A&P through Excelsior but since it did not have a lab I have to retake A&P I and I have to take A&P II with a lab.

I didn't have to take the Anatomy OA, just physiology and the anatomy lab (which I protested since I had anatomy with a lab before starting excelsior). I also had to retake micro.
