UT of Tyler, sometime within the last semester, posted their criteria/GPA point figuring system for how they accept admissions to their BSN program. (This is the program I want to attend but I thought what they do is very interesting and wondered if other schools are doing this as well.)Apparently, if I'm reading this right, it's impossible to retake a "B" course and get an "A" because they deduct 1 point from any courses that have been retaken. So retaking a course you got a 3.0 in is pointless if you're applying to a program that similiarly penalizes you.
I haven't blown any of the courses that they look at so specifically yet, but that gives me less margin for error the way I'm looking at it. ~gulp~
So my main point is, beware about retaking courses! May or may not do you any good! hehe.

It's the same thing here at San Antonio College ADN program :stone
I gotta retake Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology. I got an "A" on the 2 Anatomy classes I took. Achieved a "B-" on Physiology and aced Microbiology. What sucks I took those classes a loooooong time ago and my college won't let me into the nursing program even though I'm a practicing LVN.
