Hello ALL:
I need to share my story about my NLCEX-RN exam journey. I graduated from State College of Florida with an A.S. Degree in Nursing (R.N.) Bradenton, Florida in May 2007. I took my rn exam twice through Florida Board of Nursing i.e in July 2007- 75 questions, October 2007-76 questions. Then I took 3 times through Georgia Board of Nursing i.e. in June 2008 while pregnant with my daughter- 75 questions, October 2008- 75 questions 37 weeks pregnant, November -2009- 108 questions. I was near passing in 6 categories and below passing in 2 i.e Physiological Adaptation, and Health Promotion and Maintenance. This was the first time I got 108 questions. I talked to one of my classmates and she told that I came very close to passing but didn't due to 2 categories.
This will be 6th time taking my test and I am going through Indiana Board of Nursing. I took Kaplan-online live class for 3 months and my average q-bank score was 65%, Diagnostic Exam Score was :49%, Readiness exam score was 98%. I have taken Question trainer 1 - 68% and rest I have to take as I have all on a cd. I also practiced questions through Prioritization, delegation, and assignment by Linda La Charity. I am taking my test again in Feb 2011. I am really scared and nervous. Please pray for me that i pass my test this time. Also tell me based on my scores what is the possibility of the outcome can be i.e am i ready or not. As you never feel ready for this test. Please help and any suggestions or input is really appreciated.

I myself took nclex rn 2 times. I believe that the reason I passed the second time was b/ c I did questions after questions and then also reviewed what I wasn't real good at. Also the the thread from here under Anyoone up for random FACT THROWING?. Another big big part that helped me and without God and prayer I could not have done it without him.

Predictor test scores are not reliable indicators. They can go both ways. You will do better by relying upon your own judgment whether or not you are ready. Good luck.

Well Good Luck to you . Make sure that you review the rationale for the questions you got right and the questions you got wrong. I am currently in the Kapln Review and I am studying the La Carity book. I will be taking the test March 2011. Please let me know how it goes and if you found the La Charity and the Kaplan Review helpful.

Continue to study and maybe at this point you should be going over Content. Kaplan has content videos go ahead and put those to use. Also pray, pray and pray some more. I failed 4 time and pass on the 5th with help of pray. In my case after so much I knew content was what I really needed and I did questions towards the end of my study plan. Stay focus and study consistently. Good luck!

Well that just gave the confidence I needed. I too have taken the nclex 4 times, took the 4th one yesterday, tried the "trick" and apparently I failed according to that. I'm at the point where I just want to quit, but if you can still continue and test again, that shows determination, maybe some advice would be helpful becaue I feel like a total loser. I had to look my daughter in the face and tell her that we couldn't buy a toy she wanted b/c mom is still not working. Then I began to cry. This totally bites. I'll get my real results tomorrow. Hope the "trick" is wrong. I don't know if I can continue doing this. Emotionally and financially.

Did you pass this time? How many times do they allow you to do the NCLEX?

I graduated from nursing school since June of last year, and also did not pass my board yet. It is so sad. I do not know what to do again. last two weeks when I took the exam again, everything came up with near pass and 192 questions before the computer got shut on me. I called Kaplan today to register for their review coming up in three weeks. I am getting frustrated with the exam. I really need to pass so I can be myself again. any advise or help will be highly appreciated, I can also be contacted by email at [email protected].

I know this is an OLD thread, but can I ask... Where did you take your NCLEX 4 times? As I'm in Fla and 3 is the limit & I failed ALL 3.

To TopicBrat,
Each state has its' own rules and regulations for how often one can test and retest for the NCLEX.... some are very specific and require remediation once you fail X number of times... others let you retest as much as you want with a minimum of days in between the tests... look at your state board of nursing and surrounding boards of nursing for requirements for each state.
