Where can I go in the states to get scrub experience as a RN? I really want a hospital who invests in their RN's to have them to both scrub & circulate. It seems like I won't be getting that in the PNW.
Edit: I will be giving a 2 year commitment to my current hospital, however in the future I would like to move to a hospital that will allow their nurses to scrub. My current hospital said that they only employ scrub techs to scrub. I wish this wasn't the case but I know this can be the norm for a majority of facilities.

Visit the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) for online OR education, career center, magazine info and professional resources.
Search "Operating Room Training Program for RN's" or "PeriOp-101 Fellowship Programs" to see what is available in the PNW.
Relocation maybe necessary to achieve your desired nursing role. Best wishes in your journey,

University of Michigan in Ann Arbor does. I saw your other post and scrubbing is not necessary for O.R. travel nursing….there are plenty of circulating only jobs. If you just want to learn to scrub it will make you more marketable. ?

Check out most large university hospitals as all the ones here in California almost require one to scrub as part of the job and will train you once you are hired. It allows a lot more flexibility in terms of staffing and skill mix if you have your RN's competent in the scrub RN role in addition to circulating. Many younger nurses when interviewed are specifically asking whether they will be trained to scrub as it is what they want to do and they make their choice of employer based on this type of training offered which is commendable.
