Rejected from school

Featured Replies

I was rejected the first time I applied. I used that year to take more courses and prepare myself mentally and physically to try again. I finished up an associate's degree in the process. I applied the 2nd year, and got in. The timing was better, anyhow. It all worked out in the end.

I just want to know how many times you should try before giving up

My good friend was just accepted after trying 5 times. So maybe you should never stop trying. Im very happy for her!

depends on how badly you want it.....

cast a wider net (apply to more schools) and be patient. Waiting lists in some places have never been longer. it may try your patience....but if you want it bad enough, you will pursue it vigorously.

how many times, well that is up to you.

Did your friend apply to the same institution five times? If so, that's what I call a dedicated and focused person, even if they didn't apply to the same school!

I went to a college with someone who tried at least 3 times to get into the nursing program....she eventually went back to her home state of Florida and finished school there (don't know if she even went back into nursing). I have also known people that got into the program and were not allowed to continue after the 1st or 2nd semester....my class started out with 75 people in it.....only about 30 actually graduated from the program. It's tough, and if one college doesn't accept you then I'd suggest trying other programs as well. As others have said...it depends on how bad you want it.

Good luck to you.
