Rejected from school
Did your friend apply to the same institution five times? If so, that's what I call a dedicated and focused person, even if they didn't apply to the same school!

Rejected from school
I was wandering how many of you guys have been rejected from a nursing school before actually getting in?

Why are doctors so rude?
The reason doctors are rude to nurses is because nurses ALLOW them to be rude to them. You should not allow ANYONE to talk to you any kind of way. If you do not stand up for yourself at the beginning, then obviously that doctor is going to continue to treat you the way he does.

Patient Care Tech. a good start?
Would I be qualified to be hired as a PCT with a BS in biology, or would i need more training?

Patient Care Tech. a good start?
I just got turned down from nursing school a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm trying to figure out what to do. I applied to an accelerated BSN program that accepts students twice in the fall and in the spring. I got turned down for the fall '05 semester. I plan on applying again for the spring '06 semester, but was wandering what kind of medical job i could find in the meantime. So my question is: Is appyling to be a patient care tech. and working as one good preparation to become a RN? And how "hard" is it to get hired as a PCT? I will will be graduating May 7th with a BS. in Biology. :yelclap:  !!!!!! Thanks!

pursuing CRNA school acceptance- help
Tooty, since your GPA wasn't great for the accelerated BSN program, did your GRE scores counteract the GPA?

What is it like to be a CRNA ? How many hours a week ? Salary ? Time Off ? Duties ?
I agree with Pete. Since you have all those pre-req's for PA school, you can apply the majority of those classes to an accelerated BSN program, which Pete said is around 18 months. So you can definatley become CRNA within the next 4.5 to 5.5 years. But I would also like to know What is the job market like ? What are the salaries like ? What is the best salary you ever heard of and the average ? Thanks.

DOCTORATE for CRNA's?
What exactly is an ologist? Sorry if this may seem like a mundane question, but i'm new to the forum and was just wondering who they are and what relationship do they have with CRNA's. Thanks.

BSN? or BS in Something else?
Well, the CRNA school I was looking at said they required students to be a graduate of an accredited baccalaureate or higher generic nursing program(BSN or ADN) or hold a bachelor of science degree in a basic or appropriate health science. So your chemistry degree would be fine. I have a bachelor's degree in biology myself. So, as long as you get your RN, and that experience in critical care, you should be fine!

DOCTORATE for CRNA's?
So does this mean that CRNA's will be able to work independently as Dr.s and have no supervision whatsoever? Also, it seems that this will create more "drama" between anesthesia providers. i.e. MDA's and AA's. Do you think it will?
