i was able to get a nursing interview for a night position in our local state psychiatric hospital. i had to interview with 12 administrators at the same time!í ½í¸¦ at the end they told me they would let me know their decision by next week. Well i get a phone call 3 hours later with an offer. i know psych nursing tends to have a high turnover. Should i be flattered or worried?
That's not nearly enough information to answer your question. I've gotten all three of my nursing job offers on the spot. One job is great (so far), one was OK, and one was terrible.

Yeah, back in '90, I went to Anomaly State Hospital with my then-wife, who was a recreational therapist, for her to apply for a position.
I had long hair and a beard, was wearing bib overalls, and my Ex introduced me to the HR director saying something like, "This is my husband, Davey. And although he doesn't look it, he's an RN!"
The HR director's eyes lit up and excitedly said to me, "Do you want to apply? We have openings!" I graciously turned him down, but went back about a year later and applied. The DON hired me on the spot.
Without going into a lot of detail, I'll say it was an "okay" job, but definitely not one of my most favorite positions. I lasted there for about a year and a half, leaving to go work in a small community hospital doing Med Surge/ER.
The pay and benefits at the state hospital were great, staff was good, but I did not get along with administration.
Good luck to you, marsbar37!
