Hey. Ok, so I just sent in all my applications. On one of them though there was a page to list any employment within the past 6 years. I'm only 20 and I've only had 2 jobs..both hostessing at nearby restaurants for like 3 months each. Anyway, I didn't list those on there for some reason..I really dont know why. So I ended up leaving that page blank. I'm worried though that maybe the school will find out that I've had these jobs and then think I'm trying to hide something and then not accept me b/c of it. Do I have a reason to worry? Am I just being stupid here? Is the purpose for this section to see if you have ever had to support yourself? Anyway, yeah please just let me know if I'm worrying for nothing or what. Thanks..

I don't know why a school would want that information except for if you ever apply for financial aid. Then that information will be looked at in making a decision about whether or not you will get a loan. Otherwise, there is no way the school can find out if or where you worked unless they have access to income tax records which usually takes a subpoena. It is up to you whether or not you want to reveal any information.
I know a handful of 24 year olds who live at home with mom and dad and have never had a jobs. 20 years old and never had a job doesn't sound all that strange.

aw, you're ok. Don't worry about it. Better to beg for forgiveness than ask permission, and I promise you there's nothing in a hostessing job that should keep you from nursing school. Now, if you'd held that Logistics Coordinator position for those El Salvadoran Death Squads, or were a Loan Shark or something, you might have reason to worry. But you're fine. At the very very very worst, if something happens, you can always claim ignorance and say that you thought they wanted employment of more than six months or something like that.
Bottom line, and this is from years of wisdom. People do not get in trouble for NOT putting things on their resume. It's what they SAY they've done and have really NOT that they get in trouble for.
sleep tight. You're fine.

doubtful that you will have any problems - but ironically, i do think people that work in the restaurant business do make great nurses.
i'm not saying this due to the service aspect of the job, but because in waitressing (like nursing) prioritization is king from what i've witnessed!! instead of patrons with multi course meals, you have to juggle patients with meds and labs. :)
