Ok, Im officially done with the summer semester. Wound up with a B in adv patho. Man, Im glad that class is over. They should NOT offer that class during the summer. Too much info for a short semester.

Our fall semester begins Aug 23 or 24, I cant remember right now. I will be taking Diagnostic Assessment (which will involve clinicals), which I never thought Id begin clinicals...... seems like it has took forever, and Nursing Research (yuck, yuck, yuck).

Now that I will be starting clinicals, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, even though I still have 5 semesters left!

What will you all be taking????

I'll be having more fun than you, LOL! I'm dropping out of UAB FNP program after completing a week of intensive training in shamanism at the Healing the Light Body School of the Four Winds Society. I like working with clients that are western medicine "failures" so it doesn't make much sense to get more of what doesn't work for these clients. So, I'll just do more training at HLB. Best of luck for you though!

CardioTrans,

I begin the FNP program at Ball State University on August 21 and my first two courses are Theory and Research. I dread Research so much. It was my least favorite class in my BSN program. I guess the bright side is that I'm getting it over with at the beginning of the program.

I will start my first semester of the Adult NP program @ Univ. of Maryland on Aug. 28. I will be taking Patho AND Pharm!!!!!!!!!!!!! :uhoh3:

I'm starting my classes at UMASS Worcester on August 16th with theory/research I, societal forces influencing APN practice, and advanced pathophysiology. I already took one elective course this summer-advanced oncology nursing and received an "A" in that. Yippee! hopefully I'll continue to do well in these other 3 courses. :) good luck to everyone this fall. i'm both nervous and excited to start.

I start on Aug 31st and am hoping I am not biting off more than I can chew!! I will be taking Adv Patho, Theory, Ethics and Adv practice roles. Should be interesting, luckily I am only going to be working VERY part time! Good luck to you all!

I just finished up my summer course yesterday and will be taking Perspectives in Advanced Practice Nursing this fall. I am SO happy to only have on course this fall semester!

Specializes in Acute rehab/geriatrics/cardiac rehab.

I'm scheduled to take Advanced Pathophysiology and an Advanced Assessment class in an ANP program. These will be my fifth and sixth classes in this program ........I believe there are 9 classes and 3 clinicals in this program.........

Here I go again........ I have a friend with an ADN that says she will never take another college nursing course and instead is taking drawing and painting classes, etc, things she always wanted to take.... It's this time of year (right before fall) when I wonder if I should just drop out and take a nice relaxing course..... then I decide....ah well.... time to get things together for the fall. Therefore....I rushed over to the campus right after work yesterday and had the new ID taken that is being required. In the process I let those entering undergraduates see what a real nurse looked like (tired, sweating)...and I took the worse ID picture that I've ever taken...then I dragged myself back to the car with a silly smile on my face.....I have my books and I'll just pray and study through the next semester.....

taking "roles..." I forget the whole official name, but it it is the first clinical course in the sequence. I am SO glad I took Pharm last fall...I can't imagine taking both at the same time!

We start next week ...................

The clinical class that I am taking is Diagnostic Assessment in Family Health Nursing, or something to that effect. The Research class was full, so Im only taking one class. Tis ok though.

I have been working so much overtime that I still have to get my preceptor contract signed and back in before I can start the clinicals. Luckily this semester only 45 hrs are required.

And the start of the semester is Aug 22. Still have to get the book too. Bad that I work on the same campus that Im in school at, and dont have time to get to the bookstore!!

Oh my gosh, I started my 3 classes (Advanced Patho, Theory/Research I, and Societal Forces influencing APN practice) last week and am already swimming in homework. I find all the material pretty interesting, it's just that I need to do so much reading! Holy Cow! I think I have to try to become a speed reader or something. I like to normally take my time reading and taking notes so I know i'm retaining the material, but I don't think that is possible with reading 12 chapters a week, numerous scientific/nursing articles, all the lecture notes, etc. all in one week! I'm organizing a small study group to meet once a week just so we can summarize out loud to each other what we've retained from everything we read/learned.

Hey guys - I just wanted to wish everyone much luck this semester.
