How long does the Do Not Rehire list last? Does it depend on the facility? It was my first tech job. And honestly, I was scared. I lasted only a month. I realize the importance of not burning your bridges and haven't at any other employer since then. Im not 100% sure I am placed on the list, but just assume I was since I didn't give proper notice.
Now a RN and almost 10 years later, I applied to this facility. Surprisingly received a call back and have had multiple interviews. Would I have made it this far if I was on the Do Not Rehire list? Is there an indicator that pops up from DNR applicants? I didn't put it on the application. Im quite ashamed of it because I really don't have any other excuse other than feeling intimidated.

Of course the policy is going to vary from facility to facility; you certainly don't think there's a National Do Not Hire Registry, right? So....it depends what the facility decides as to what they will do.
By the same logic, no one can possibly know if there is any "indicator that pops up" because there is no standard practice for this. Best anyone can tell you is that it's been TEN YEARS, and you have a license you didn't have then, so.....why are you worrying about it? You got a call back, have had multiple interviews.....what on earth are you worrying about this glitch from ten years ago for?
Good luck in getting the job! :)

I don't think you're on the do-not-rehire list. Before I became disabled, I attempted to go back to my old hospital more than a dozen times over the course of 10 years, and never got so much as a phone interview. You see, I'd had a nervous breakdown and quit without notice almost three years into the job, and that apparently torpedoed any chances I might have had for reemployment there.
You're at least getting interviews. I think you're in good shape. Best of luck!
I know there isn't a national list. But was thinking employee records would be under SSN's. I will let it go and just see what happens! Thanks for putting my mind at ease!

Those Do Not Re-Hire lists depend on what you did. I got marked as Not Recommended for Re-Hire at my latest facility over a stupid scheduling issue, and start back there tomorrow.
Now if there was a major issue like mental health, diversion or something that would seriously endanger a patient, they may be singing a different tune.
