Re-entry program at kwantlen

Published

Hello everyone . I would like to start by thanking everyone who has contributed one way or the other in this forum to provide people like me with useful information whenever a question is asked. Thanks and God bless. It wouldnt have been easy without you.

Please,i would appreciate if anyone could give me advice with regards to re-entry to practice nursing program at kwantlen BC. How long is the program? how much does it cost? i went to their website but there is no information on that. I have been asked by CRNBC after SEC to complete the program as one of the requirements for registration.

Secondly ,i thought they said the program was for nurses who have been out of service for some time, as for me , i ve been practising for 10years now,so i dont know how i ended up with this. Is it possible to do the re-entry program online? i live outside canada.pls advice, dont know where to start??? thanks and God bless:redbeathe

Have you tried contacting the college and asking them these questions? I am sure they will have contact details especially in the College is requiring you to go through this

hope you get an answer soon, The program may be for people who have not worked for a while but they may have decided on your SEC that your skills may not be up to what they require their nurses to have therefore you need to do this course. If it is only done in Canada you should be able to get a student visa which can be changed to TWP once you have completed everything and find a employer once you have eligibility to sit CRNE (this is what most employers are looking for) I went for student to TWP with no problems although I was lucky that hubby was main TWP at the time. Now I am the main TWP whilst waiting for PR to be processed

Thanks so much siverdragon. you are God sent!. please what is TWP? and will my husband be given a visa to come with me is i apply for student visa? please i need more info on this . How much is the program and what is the duration?God bless you

I know nothing about the program but TWP = Temp Work Permit and all information including student visa can be found on the CIC website and yes your husband should be able to join you as long as he sends an application with you, I believe he can apply for a work permit with you having a student visa but check out the website first. Will also explain how to emigrate and what other options there are for immigration

Thank you so much, may God bless you abundantly.

Hi all. Sorry if i am asking too many questions. You know how it is,please bear with me. I would like to know, just as silverdragon stated above that my husband would be able to apply for a TWP, Can he do that without an employer? I mean he has no job offer, will CIC grant such permit? I checked CIC website but i cant seem to find the information pertaining to that.please advice me,in as much as i want to complete this program, i cant afford to leave him behind. Thanks for anticipated responce. God bless you.

Hi Chinma n others,

i am new here.I am advised by CRNBC to take re entry programme after my SEC! have any info for me like how long, total cost and how is the programme? I am having 17 yrs of operating theatre experience so some one tell me how is the opportunity? i am from singapore and I am looking at vancouver.

Tks and regards

Hi Nikki, I contacted kwantlen and was told that the duration of the program is 1year but the application period is twice a year [May and september, the earlier you apply the better for you because seats get filled up quickly] after which you would be made eligible to sit for CRNE. The cost is 18,000+ for tuition and other fees. Cost of living is definitley not included! lol. Some friends told me that the program is worth it and one stands a better opportunity of getting an employer faster. Hope this helps. Wishing u the best! God bless.
