Im in the RN-BSN Grand Canyon Univ. program, I have a paper due and it's to be 1000 words and I'm over by 100. Do I get rid 100 words or leave it? Why do they count the reference page

Try to read over your paper once more and delete anything that is not absolutely necessary. Although I don't think you will be penalized for being a few words over, 100 is alot and many times Instructors place these restrictions on the assignment to see if you will follow direction.

That is weird they count the reference page. I have not heard of that before. Go through and look for words like "also" and "very". Usually they are not needed.

My favorite phrase to change for word count is "in order to." Such as, "In order to improve my grade, I eliminated some words" ... You really don't need the "in order" phrase, see what I mean? :) "To improve my grade..." has the same meaning.
