Questions about test day...

hey everyone i have a few questions about the nclex.

- if i bring a drink can i keep it near the computer or keep it in a locker?

-if i bring a jacket can i keep it with me?

- how many forms of ideas id do i need to bring?

-how early should i get to the test center if my test is at 8 am?

hey everyone i have a few questions about the nclex.

- if i bring a drink can i keep it near the computer or keep it in a locker? you can bring nothing into the actual testing area. you can leave whatever you want in the lockers.

-if i bring a jacket can i keep it with me? if you bring the jacket into the testing area you have to leave it on, you cannot take it off. nor can you bring it in, and put it one when you need it.

- how many forms of ideas id do i need to bring? i brought several but you only need your att and one form of id (check your paperwork or the pearsonvue website, the give a list of acceptable id's) i brough my my drivers license, my passport, and my social security card. i also had a work id badge with my picture and name on it..the id wouldn't be an acceptable id but i had it with me.

-how early should i get to the test center if my test is at 8 am? i would say at least 1/2 hour before your test time. you need time to go to the bathroom, register with the people at the testing center etc. i was at the testing center a little over an hour before my test time (8am). i walked in the testing center around 7:15 and was registered and seated at my computer at around 7:30-7:40am. i don't know if all centers do this but a me and a lot of my fellow classmates were allowed to start the test early when we were there early.

You can not take anything into the room like drinks, it will be kept in a locker. ID that is required will be on your ATT but would suggest passport, driver's ID, something with a photo. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the test center especially if you have to travel a bit in case of traffic problems. This may answer a few questions https://www.ncsbn.org/1219.htm

You cant bring anything into the actual test room except your ID and locker key, I brought a sweater in and they allowed me to put on the back of my chair until i needed it. Two forms of ID to be safe (they only asked for one) Arrive at least 30min before. If ur not familar where the center is i suggest a test drive (thats what i did) so u know exactly where. :)

oh darn. what if my brain needs a glucose boost? even candies are not allowed? :scrying:

You can take a break and go get that candy you need. But that time you take for that break counts toward the time you have for the test.

I guess each center is different we weren't allowed to bring in a sweater unless we were going to wear it in and leave it on the whole time..hummm

first break would be after the 75th question right? what if around 10th question i really need a candy? thats the only way i respond to a stressor-food

I was surprised when I found out that I would not be able to chew gum in the testing center. That is the way I handle stress is to chew on gum during the most stressful test of my life, the NCLEX. I just tried to focus on the test and ignore the fact that I did not have my stress reliever with me. Good luck to you. You can do it!!

Then you would have to leave the room and go to your locker and the clock would still be running
