Iam currently in school doing my prerequisites for nursing. Iam so nervous now after I spoke to my academic advisor, I have 2 c' and was hit with a blow that my grades have to be A's and B's to be even a candidate for entry to the nursing program. What if I have mixed grades do that count me out. I feel a little Discourage HELP..... Plus a lot of candidates don't even get in. Where do I go from here?

Repeat the classes in which you got Cs to boost your grades.

Not all schools will allow retakes- they'll only look at the grade from the first time.

My school would only let us retake a class if we got a D or an F. I got a C in physiology and couldn't retake it, BUT, that did not stop me from being able to get into an LPN program and then a very competitive bridge program.
Good luck.

You need to either look for programs with lower requirements but yet are credited or you need to switch majors. Also, have you determined why you made such low grades in those courses?
My major will not change, However I passed and the requirements state C' or above. They will not let me take the class again being that I already passed.
I was advised I can possible end up in the LPN Program then Bridge.
So what exactly is the problem? Many people do LPN first and then bridge.

What classes are the "Cs" in? You could also apply to nursing programs that accept second attempt grades. It's a good idea to work toward being accepted to more than one program.

Keep your chin up and focus on your next classes. What can you do to improve your grades this time around? What went wrong last time?
Look into other programs nearby that are less competitive or have a lower GPA requirement. Like others have stated the LPN-RN route is another option. There are some schools around that those C's won't make much of a difference, depending on what classes they are. Many schools primarily look at the science classes. I've known people who got into my school's nursing program with C's in English and Psychology.
