Question about wages

I had been under the impression that nursing home RN's get paid less than hospital RN's. I have a friend who keeps telling me it's the opposite. I was just curious if anyone had any input.

This depends on if the ADON is a LVN or RN. My ADON was a LVN and she once(once meaning years ago) told me that I as a floor nurse made significantly higher wage than she did.

If it is LTC DON position :(, do you mind giving me a rough estimation of how much LTC ADON make, because currently, there is only an ADON position open. In addition, please tell me what state you are talking about since that makes a huge difference. I'm in central illinois.:monkeydance:

I live in rural Massachusetts so the salaries here are less than the big cities, but I meant LTC DON...I was an ADON at one facility and was making $28.87/hr. I had been at that facility for a while in all sorts of different jobs. I was offered a job at a different facility and they paid me $34/hr to be the assistant director. The range of salaries is big...

Yep! That is what I was offered. Does that sound reasonable? Please advise.:idea:
That seems very low for a DON. In Michigan salaries range from 78,000 to 100,000/yr.
