Hey , sorry to always be calling on you , but since you are a Tx girl I figure you already know the answers to my Tx specific questions.

Do you know which Tx colleges will accept EC grads for RN to Bsn programs ? Are you at all worried about recent bon decisions re EC and do you think it will play out that way in Tx ?

Thanks , Calliesue

hey not a problem... although i do not have all the answers i can give you a strong opinion. as far as ec and texas , you will always hear that texas is a very ec friendly state ,but if you go back through the post's about 4 years, i remember posting something regarding changes from the texas bon. they eventually had a meeting on the subject and the curriculum was left as it always is. when i was checking into ec for the first time back in 04 i was told not to enroll by the bon until they had made their decision because the changes would be dramatic if they took place. that was 4-5 years ago and nothing has happened since . possibly it could be since there are so many ec grads in texas.....

now as far as rn to bsn programs i dont have a official anwer for this but i will be applying to either texas tech or utmb. all of my credits are from a community college and i will graduate december 13 th with my bachelors degree in gov/soc ...ec is a accrediated college even if some of your courses dont transfer ( if you took any) it is your nursing license that will transfer without trouble. the only trouble i can see someone having is with the sciences because they are only 3 cedits...correct me if i am wrong

I agree. No signs of a problem in TX so far with licensing EC grads. If restrictions do eventually come up, hopefully it would come with a grace period for enrollment or graduation (so that enrolled students can be grandfathered). Most other states imposing restrictions have chosen to do it that way.

As far as RN-to-BSN admissions, I agree that you probably won't find schools restricting admission to EC grads. The difficulty may be in having to retake sciences with labs.

I had most of the science credits with labs from a traditional school before enrolling in the EC ASN program, so I didn't have to jump through that additional hurdle. However, I still chose to continue at EC for the RN-to-BSN because I liked the distance learning format.

I am in a program right now (Graceland University) with an EC grad from Texas. He is a flight nurse and he loves it. He is very sharp and knowledgeable. When I first began with EC there was an awesome website called alittlesarcasm.com and the site administrator (and others) used to say the the EC Plano site was notoriously tough as far the CPNE goes. That was years ago, and I don't know what they are like now. Don't want to scare anyone. :saint:
