I'm from the UK, but to the best of my knowledge, there is nowhere that gives incentives for being bilingual.... quite a few of the nurses in my dept speak 4-5 languages and its not taken into account.

for salary ranges for various jobs by area and type.
and in some places, being bilingual will net you a differential---others not. It's always a PLUS, however, believe me.

If you happen to live and work in a multicultural, diverse area where more than one language is regularly spoken, it would greatly help if the nurse was bilingual. I am from southern California where Spanish, Tagalog, Korean, Armenian, Russian, Chinese, Hindi, Parsi and other languages were regularly spoken.
Some hospitals pay bilingual bonuses and others don't.

I work in Canada (the home of the bi-lingual debate:chuckle ). I've never seen a position that pays an LPN a diff. for being bi-lingual. It might help with a position in the federal government (but those are few and far between -- they tend to contract out) or in the military (but only for promotional purposes).
Wages depend on where you work, how strong your union is, how many hours experience you bring to the job.....
