Question regarding contract

Hello! I recently signed a contract to be a school nurse. I haven't started orientation yet, the director of the program said she's "still waiting for a few things to come together". But I was given the start date of the 29th of August. It's the 25th, and I still don't have details on orientation or what my assignment is. Needless to say it's a little frustrating. I've been offered another position elsewhere, and on the contract it says that if I don't give a 30 day notice they can take legal and licensure actions againts me. I guess I'm wondering what I can do at this point.

Also she knows that I gave my 2 week notice at my current position. Thanks in advance!

The only thing I could think of that would affect your license is if you abandoned a patient or patients; which isn't possible because you don't have anyone to abandon. But...do you have a copy of the contract? That would spell out what "legal" action they could launch against you...which, I believe, is nothing.

Thank you for responding. All it says is that if I don't give a 30 day notice of resignation they can take legal and licensure actions againts me. But it does not specify.
