Question about Pre-Req's

Here is what I am wondering:

Should I take A&P 1 and Microbiology next semester?

I will also have to work around 25 hours each week. I do not have any children and am not married. I do however have family and a very serious boyfriend that I want to be able to spend time with. A's and B's do not come easily to me, I really have to study to do well on my test.

My other idea is to take A&P 1, English, Orientation to Health Care, and Social Ethics.

I am taking Human Bio right now (along with english, math and med term) which is a very basic A&P class with no lab. I think that it will help me with the full blown A&P. I really want to get my Bio's done and over with but I do not want to be on overload either. Which way should I go? Any advice that you all can throw my way would be great. Thanks Michelle:wink2:

Well Princess, I am sorta in your situation if you choose to do it I guess. I am currently taking Micro and A&P2 at the same time. I work 32 hours per week I have a fiance and we have a 2 year old son together. I would say that you can defintely do it but it takes a lot of studying. To me A&P is very challenging but I love Mirco its so interesting to me but I study a lot but a I also have them on different days so my test dont fall on the same day. Good luck with whatever you do decide.:)

I personally think it is doable but it's going to require lots of dedication and effort put into it. Think about what grade you expect to get and how you are going to get there. Is it worth possibly risking not getting a high passing grade and knocking 2 sciences out of the way? Or do you think it would be better to take one at a time and possibly make a higher grade? Are you prepared to deal with 2 different lectures and labs?

I know lots of people who have done this before and were successful, while others swore they would never do it again.

I personally think that 2 sciences at a time is not for ME. I would not be prepared to handle it and like you I have no kids.

No one can really answer your question as you may already know. You need to answer it yourself and think of the outcomes and realistically what you can put into them.

Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do.

Like others have said, only you know what you can do, BUT I strongly suggest against it. Those are two really tough courses. You won't know that you got in over your head til your sinking...and then it's too late. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the replies

I chose to do my sciences 1 at a time.

Granted they were fast-tracks, but still, I was able to dedicate the study time required to pull off A's in them.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do! :)

Smart girl!!!

I took A&P I over the summer. I'm taking A&P II and Microbio this semester. My school advisor strongly recommended I do it this way, and boy am I glad I listened to her. There's alot of building information in A&P I that applies in both A&P II and Microbio. If you're planning at least two semesters anyway, you may want to consider taking one science and get a feel for it. Then, next semester you'll know whether you can take on two sciences at once.

You have to do what you feel comfortable with.
