Question about Mirena

My best friend has a 4 month old and an 18 month old.She is considering getting Mirena.She would like to have another child in 2 yrs.Is Mirena something that can be removed at any time? She would like to go back on regular bc pills.She isn't sure when she can bcse she's breastfeeding and got pregnant on the low dose pills.Thanks for your help.

Have her go to a RELIABLE sourse....like her doctor.

I got mirena about 7 months ago. My doc said if I wanted another child before the five years when it has to be removed I could have it removed at any time. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Mirena is effective for 5 years. It can be removed at any time, and a woman will generally find herself fertile again within a month after removal.
