PVT 75 questions??

Took the NCLEX-RN exam today had 75 questions in about 3 hrs... got the "good pop up" which I think is the "our records indicate you are already scheduled for this exam etc." right? does this mean I passed?? I did the PVT about 45 minutes after my exam is that to soon?? I dont want to get my hopes up but I am so nervous!!

While PVT isn't fool proof, it's a very good indicator! I know how brutal that 48 hour wait is, and nothing is going to ease your mind until you see PASS on the screen, but do your best to distract yourself for the next day until those real results come in. The good pop up is almost always a very good thing!! :)

Thank you!! I am so scared because I only got about 7 SATA, no math questions, 2 drag and drop, 2 exhibit and rest MC... praying I passed..

Yes you have to wait 24hrs after the completion of the exam to try the PVT. The test is scored twice, once as you progress through the exam and then once more within the 24hrs. It could be graded a second time within 2hrs of your exam or 22hrs. You can't have an accurate PVT without waiting for 24hrs to be safe. Trying the PVT 45 mins after the exam may only reflect the first score, not the final one. I know it's hard to wait, believe me I just took the nclex-rn saturday. I did the PVT 22hrs before my 24hr mark because I didn't know any better but that's when someone on here told me about when to do it. Good luck!

Thanks, Pitt, for saving me the typing trouble! :)

I checked mine about an hour after the test (around 5pm) got the good pop up and my license was posted the next day by 11am

How wonderful for you to have such a quick-acting BoN! Wish they were all like that.

It's important to note, however, that we really strongly caution against doing the PVT prior to 24 hours because you have to wait until both sets of scores are completed. For instance, if your first score had been close to the line, but was a 'fail', your premature PVT would've cost you $200 (pressing submit with the financial info=charge). And then if your second score was a pass, well, you'd be happy you passed but would have thrown good money into the toilet--or, more accurately, donated it to Pearson Vue!

I know that many are having success by changing the expiration dates on their credit cards, however there are many more that just do the PVT without consideration of the "what ifs". They aren't asking about how to avoid the $200 charge, they're just asking if their "good pop up" half an hour after the exam is accurate. Ah well.

Congrats, but do let others know to wait a full 24 hours before doing the PVT ;)

Ok, thanks!! So I should wait until 24 hours after I FINISHED the test correct?? Sorry if that's a terrible question just want to make sure I do it at the right time!

Yes 24hrs after the time you completed the exam is the safest time to try! RNsRWe, any idea about how long it takes generally for a BON to post your license and it be seen on the license look up area of their website? I'm in SC and just throughout the application process they've been slow for me. They asked for a copy of my driver's license for proof of residency twice in the past 3 weeks and I've sent a copy promptly each time and just today it's showing "accepted" on my application. If it took that long to show that I can only imagine how slow they'll be with recognizing my license...

It's very variable by State. Some States will post their license updates every 24 hours, some every couple or few days, and some even less often. I'm sorry I don't know about SC specifically; there are some States that get asked about frequently (like California) because they are so appallingly slow. Hopefully you'll have some good news soon :)

First, calm down and breathe! You can and you will wait for official results, what choice do you have?

As for PVT: if it has been at least 24 hours since you FINISHED the exam, and you cannot register/pay for another exam, you have passed :)

Will California post a pass on the results or do I have to wait until they send me my results in the mail? I took mine on the 16th and the results are saying not available. I did the PVT and got the pop-up but does that work for California. The computer shut off at 85 and most of my test was sata. I have 3 pharm and 3 dosage calculations. I feel like I completely bombed it. My instructor said that the PVT is not accurate and doesn't work anymore. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
