Psb-nat

Hi, I'm taking pre-reqs now to get into nursing school at florida community college in jacksonville. I did a search of the forums but didn't find too much info about the Psychological Services Bureau Revised Nursing Aptitude Exam. Has anyone taken this and if so how did you do and what types of questions were on it?

Thanks,

Sonja

Hey,

I have applied to FCCJ and am awaiting admission. I took the PSB-NAT. I didn't think it was that hard. The hardest part was the reading comp. b.c the articles were written in the early 1900's and they wrote different than us. The science was the easiest for me but I had really good A+P and Micro teachers. Not much chem or physics. Just study up on beginning math...fraction conversions, decimals, etc. You can't use a calculator. Good Luck

Thanks for the response. I am moving to Jacksonville in January and will start classes in August. Can you recommend any good teachers for the prereq. and general ed. courses we have to take in the nursing program. How do you like fccj?

Hey again,

Sorry I have done all of my pre-reqs are the university of North Florida...their program for nursing school is super competitive (like 3.8 gpa or higher only) so I am transfering to FCCJ. However, search FCCJ on these sites and some other people have gone there...ask them...

Hi guys! I too will be going to FCCJ and i realized that we had to take the Psb-nat. Can taking the TEAS test replace taking the Psb-nat? Or do I need to take that one as well?

you pulled up a post from 2004... ;)

anyway, if you're trying to apply to FCCJ's RN program, you HAVE to take the PSB-NAT. the TEAS test cannot be a substitute for it.

CRAZY! I hear that some people who take the NAT on the computer use the computer's calculator. I called up the open campus testing center and asked if it was true and the proctor told me that they would have no way of knowing if students did use the calc. How unfair is that? He also said that some campuses might let students use calculators still. Is this true? Do they allow them with the pencil and paper exam?

Is There A Drop Down Calculator On The Nat? What Is This That Some People Say They Were Able To Use A Calc And Some say They Were Not? How Is This Fair At The Least? It Makes Me So Upset

Do you have any suggestions on where I can find reviews (online) for the NAT at?

Thanks!

Could someone please give examples on whats going to be on the test.

I have searched all over the fccj site and couldn't find a sample test or anything similar to it.

I really need to know whats going to be on the test....

I realize there is some math, spelling, natural science, Comprehension, and a vocational Adjustment Index section?( not sure what that is.) Also wondering what kind of math one is tested on? is it basic math or calculus stuff...?

An answer would be much appreciated. :)

I am currently taking my pre-requisites for the Nursing program and I just took Human Growth and Dev online with professor S.S. She was awesome and I got a 98%.

I am also wondering if someone can provide examples of what is on the PSB exam. I have not taken my sciences yet so I am waiting until I complete those courses to take the test but would love to know what areas to really study on. My boss' daughter just got accepted for the next term and she had a 196.

I had to take the PSB for entrance into my program. Here's a guide from my school's site for preparation for the exam! Hope it helps!

I will check it out. Thank you.:)
