Providence TIP Program September 2020

Hey all,

I wanted to make a forum where we could communicate regarding Providence Health's TIP program starting in September 2020.

I didn’t get an email or a call yet , I was going to wait until 3pm to call the nurse educator if I didn’t hear anything by then.

What were your top 3 units ?

Oh okay, I’ll probably wait too then. I put Med/surg tele, step down, and oncology. Good luck!!

Well it seems like I probably won’t be hearing back yet again from any Providence location. So many others have already been contacted and I have yet to hear anything at all. I’ve applied 4 times to the TIP and never heard back. I’ve got my BSN, graduated with honors, ACLS and PALS, 9 years LVN experiance and nothing. I’ve had friends who barely graduated junior college with a 2.5 GPA, no bachelors, no certs, get hired already before me and I cant get an interview. I’m starting to think there is some sort of bias to who they hire. I think this is the last time I ever apply to Providence. Really dissappointed.

I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe a change in the format of resume and cover letter might help? You can ask a professor or from your school. I asked my professor who works there for help on my resume and cover letter and I think it helped a lot. Did you also apply to other new grad programs as well?

I hired someone to re-do my resume. I think that might be beneficial in your case since you’re more than qualified for a new grad position. Reach out to the recruiters and be persistent. Don’t give up !

Thank you for the advice. I may just hire someone to re-do my resume. I’m gonna reach out to the recruiter and see if they respond, but not holding my breath. Is there a resume writing service which you have used that you recommend?

They just called me and verified my top 3 units and said that they will be sending an email later for a confirmation.

I paid someone I used to work with at UCLA who helped with my cover letter. But I suggest going on yelp to find good reviews for the resume writing service. I wish you all the best in your RN new grad journey! I know it’s really tough right now especially because not a lot of hospitals are hiring, but with your qualifications, I’m sure you will land an amazing job!

Has anyone who hasn't received a call for an interview but also hasn't received a denial letter gotten any updates on what is going on? I put Burbank and Holy Cross as my top two choices, but did not receive the mass email a lot of people got, and also haven't gotten any updates on my application. I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.
