Prophecy Testing????

Has anyone ever taken this exam before? I just received an outline for the ER and it looks VERY comprehensive, like I'm taking the CEN or something. Honestly I'm pretty nervous. I'm a new hire at a facility and I think I'm supposed to take this test on Monday. Is it like the PBDS test? I heard that was horrible which is probably why I'm anxious about this. I'm also not agency/a traveler.

I just took it yesterday and I failed luckily I can retake it! I made a 68% and needed at least a 70% :-/. I've also taken the PBDS, I can say I think that one is worse than prophecy and more time consuming for you have to play the role as the doctor and list rationales for your actions after watching each vignette. The prophecy test has multiple choices with vignettes.

Oh I'm sorry! But that's good that you are allowed to retake it. Just out of curiosity, are you a traveler/agency nurse? I honestly thought they only did these types of tests for travelers/agency. This is the first time I've ever had to take something like this for an employer.

Thankfully, I passed my exam with an 87%. I think I had to get at least a 75% or 77%, I honestly don't remember, I'm just glad the test is over and done with! I found my exam to be somewhat difficult. Some questions had answers that were blatantly obvious whereas others really had me guessing. Several questions had all correct answers but of course you had to select what was the MOST correct. Ahhh, brings me back to nursing school. I don't miss those days.

The exam is timed. I had 55 minutes to complete mine. Multiple choice vignettes. As I mentioned in my original post, it was pretty comprehensive. I had nurses from other units that also had to take this exam but their's was geared more towards pharmacology. The prophecy ER exam includes pharmacology along with basically everything else. I'm taking this as a good learning opportunity and also a good prep for my upcoming CEN exam.
