  1. As of right now, it still looks like we are starting on time. We just got our letters regarding the BSN completion requirement date. I scheduled myself super light these last two schedule periods because I thought I would be completing my preceptorship for school this month. But, when I worked last my floor actually cancelled nurses for the shift and that NEVER happens.
  2. Thank you! Just trying to plow through the remainder of this semester. Dying to know if there are going to be changes to the residency start date, but I am sure they haven't determined that yet. How are things on the ground for you?
  3. Some shools have and some haven't. Some are only extending Spring break for a week at this point. Mine has not taken action yet, but you definitely won't be the only person in this boat!
  4. I was offered a position and started a facebook Group for anyone else entering the July 2020 Residency. If you are joining the JPS Residency and want to join the facebook Group - here is a link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/647977959322614
  5. I have a friend who has multiple interviews scheduled next week. She is already an employee there. I haven't heard anything yet, but have several listed as "application under review" still.
  6. I received a rejection email for Critical Care - Medicine PCU without an interview and others are still "under review".
  7. My second interview was with P4, Tower 7 did not pick me for a second interview and she was waiting to hear from E3.
  8. I applied for 6 positions on the February 14th round of applications. Five say "application under review" and one says "application received". I received the Korn Ferry email on Friday, but had previously completed it and haven't heard anything else yet.
  9. I got called for a second one and had it on Friday on the unit. When she scheduled it I asked if she had any info from other units and one did not put me on the list and the other had not got back to her yet.
  10. Mine all say the same thing, no emails or calls.
  11. One of my classmates just received a rejection email tonight. I attended the Interview Fair today...fingers crossed!
  12. Curious to see how it worked out? I was going to suggest to ask the new company about a "relocation" bonus- which could then be used to pay off the contract.
  13. I think we should start hearing something mid-month.
  14. I looked at last year's thread and there were people still just getting notifications in April.
  15. I have applied for the July 2020 program and would love to hear from anyone currently going through - the good, the bad, questions to ask? Pay range? Other hospitals have posted, but I haven't seen anything on JPS. Full disclosure -- I currently work there in a clerical position.
  16. Starting this thread for any interested applicants for the July 2020 JPS Residency Program.
  17. I applied to four spots! I really don't want to drive to Dallas, BUT I have to get a job right after graduation so I am applying to every residency program. Good luck everyone!
  18. Hello Everybody. My plans have been to enter a two year program beginning in the Fall of 2018. I am recently reading that with an ADN you pretty much need to get into and complete a one year residency program to even get hired by a hospital. In the meantime, over the last few years, I have been working on my BS (General Studies) and have accumulated 88 out of 129 hours. So here are my questions: 1. If I get my BS and then do a one year second degree to get my BSN, will a residency program still be as necessary to get hired? 2. Is the talk of residency programs to get hired, over-hyped? 3. By BS will take three semesters (full time) to complete, and then two to three to complete the fast track BSN (and cost more), vs 4 semesters to complete ADN --- feeling torn on what to do..weigh in with your experiences. Thank you!
  19. I'd love to know how this panned out. That are is one of my favorite places in the world!
  20. I have heard it is definitely 6 weeks. I applied; I know I am short on points for Fall 2017, but figured why not? You never know!! I am currently taking my last two pre-reqs, so I only get one point for each of those. If I don't get in for Fall 2017, I will reapply. Did anyone apply for Bridgeport campus? Anyone know the points for previous semesters at Bridgeport?
  21. Help -- anyone? Need info as app deadline is approaching!
  22. I was planning on applying to the Weatherford College ADN program for Fall 2017, but I am starting to doubt that I have enough points. Final two pre-reqs are being completed this semester, so I only get one point each for those. Need one more class to get 3 bonus points. The rest of my points are maxed out, except TEAS which I am planning on retaking. So my questions are -- should I try applying for the LVN and then bridging to the ADN -- this will require a flight to take the ACCUPLACER as I am currently working out of state on a contract job? Are fewer points typical to get into the other campus locations (Bridgeport and Granbury)? Are my chances higher at those locations if I am low on points? A friend told me she got in with 26, but I am seeing others say they didn't get in with 30. HELP! Thank you!
  23. Hi - my daughter is considering applying to Towson and then to the nursing program. She still needs some pre-reqs as she started at a liberal arts college and then decided on nursing. Can you tell me how your experience has been? She is in her second semester of her Sophomore year currently.
