  1. My Status did change on Jan 17th. On December 28th it said offered extended/accepted (after they called me). Then on Jaunary 17th it changed to Alternate applicant selected, and then the same day I got an email saying UCLA was sorry that I had not been selected to be a part of the New Graduate RN program for Winter 2017. I knew something was wrong because I had literally scheduled to fill out new hire paperwork the day before and had received the online paperwork and my account info that very day. I called and they said it was from the other unit that didn't hire me...? I just said "sure." Not cool to receive an email regretting to inform you you haven't been hired after you've been hired regardless of it being another unit lol. Their system seems to be a little off at times. I'd call if I were you. Did you get an offer via phone call?
  2. Guys!!! Hang in there. There is still hope. I just got a call abut 30 minutes ago!! Got offered the job, peds Ronald Reagan
  3. Thanks for the encouragement! I mean, still no rejection letter here so that's not a no. Still holding on. I just hope the offer, if any, comes before cedars starts offering in early January. Congrats on your offer! Best of luck
  4. Thanks for the info! Although, the news isn't so comforting :/. 5-7 weeks to decide between a handful of candidates is a bit absurd. Trying to stay focused on other things and positive :)...I clearly have some work to do on that lol
  5. Don't worry, a TON of us are still waiting. This is between 2 hospitals so there are a lot of applicants they will be hiring. They said offers would "start" going out December 19th, so technically it could be even later! *silently crying* The units that have called candidates either 1. had their interviewes early on in November, probably over one day instead of split 2. Had more spots available in their unit to hire, which made the decision easier or 3. were just on their game and are efficient! Hang in there!! The closer it gets, the harder it is to wait.
  6. That video interview was NOT FUN lol. The questions were not what I was expecting at all. Harder than UCLA's questions for sure. Just not typical, caught me off guard. I can't remember who gave me the info, but yes, I think most go to med-surg. However, that's not always the case, I know a new grad that went straight to oncology... so hmm? I know for sure you cannot go straight into the ED until being there for 6 months. Yes, the wait is truly agonizing with UCLA. Thanksgiving really got in the way and they are really taking their time. There were 2 choices of dates for interviews and I chose November 18, but then the second date was November 28, way later! Only a few more days now! the wait is almost over woohoo!!!!
  7. I want to email HR so badly, but I keep thinking they will be calling any day now....maybe today! ah! I actually called to remain more anonymous, but the woman just didn't know anything. :)
  8. They are pretty late in the game. There's no communication whatsoever. I forgot to add my transcripts to my application and tried emailing them and got no response back. I'm hoping it won't be a big deal, unless they are excluding people based on following the directions to a T Called HR late November to ask about when they may call and they said it was a "different department they don't communicate with and they had no idea." :/ I won't hold my breath for a call lol
  9. Just an update for everyone (because I know how it feels to be in the dark!), Cedars sent out a request for a one way video interview on Monday 12/12 and it is due by Wednesday 12/14 11:59pm. They will choose candidates from those videos and hold a large one day interview of approx. 50-60 candidates with nurse educators and nurse managers the first week* of January. Decisions will be made within a week* of the interview day. They hope to hire 30-40 new grads, so if you make it to the interview, the odds are in your favor. *This info was given to me mid November and the application opening date was already pushed back from the original info I was given, so the rest of the timeline could be pushed back as well. The info was what would happen in a "perfect world" too, so I'm not holding them to it exactly. I was just happy the person I spoke with was nice enough to share this with me. Definitely a good guideline. It is nice that their hiring process is extremely short compared to the agonizing 3 month hiring process with UCLA, USC KECK(who i have yet to hear from?) hospitals. Good luck to everyone! Hope this calms your nerves and gives you peace of mind
  10. Oh interesting! I have no clue how they decided to send us to which unit in regards to peds. I applied for peds too, but I interviewed for a transplant unit and then an oncology/step down unit. Hmm! Well, I hope I get good news like you did .
  11. Congrats! That's so awesome and thank you SO much for posting. It's a relief to hear they have started calling and making decisions. Even if I haven't received a call yet it'll be good to move on one way or another, you know? what unit& hospital was it for?
  12. Thanks for the update! Looks like you might not need the job anymore though haha, congrats. I recognize you from the UCLA board :)
  13. CONGRATS!! How exciting the unit I interviewed with said deliberation for finalists would be between Dec 5-16 and offers would go out starting Dec 19th. What was the timeline they gave you?
  14. You guys, the wait is killing me! I'm trying to keep busy, but...
  15. Not exactly sure what you were getting at, but I f you want people to actually read your post you might not want to come off so hostile in your first remark...
