  1. Yes I agree! Everyone is so helpful. Michelle was my admission counselor I love her! And I had David in financial aid he never returns ur email or anything. I still have yet to hear back from him. It's been like four months and I emailed him several times so I reached out to Patricia and she was great! Patho instructor, Mary ann, Lona the pharmacology instructor, and steve (director who teaches fundamentals are great. I don't like Katrina so much. I just feel in the class when anyone has a question or challenges her question and has a good reason she blows it off and never answers our concerns. My clinical instructor for fundamentals Lorene was ok. She is just scattered brain and unorganized which I can't stand. She will randolmly say she assigned a assignment and never said that. People have started recording her in lab. Same with Lona. I love her and feel bad when the whole class gangs up on her but she does say things and the next day she says she never said that even though half the class recorded her. But I have a A- in the class half the people bashing her are failing so they are upset. But again I never have open one book. I listen carefully to the lectures and study the outline and that's it and I have been doing just fine except for like I said on two exams in two different classes I got a 76 and a 74 those were my first two exams and I read the book and didn't pay attention to the lecture but once I figured out how to study and what to focus on I have been getting 88 and higher on exams
  2. I know WGU Grand Canyon you can appeal for them to accept your probation license. My best friend and sister did and got approved at both schools.
  3. As of July 2014, they changed their grading system to Pass/fail grade. It use to be where be they graduated with all A grades and a GPA of 4.0. But now you just get P grades and no gpa! I hate that they did that. It's so stupid! At least that is how the south jordan, Utah campus is. But I think it is the same at all campuses. This is from their 2016/2017 handbook "For students enrolled in classes that started after July 1, 2014, a Pass ("P") or No-Pass ("NP") grade will appear on the transcripts as stated in the CON Student Handbooks. A grade point average (GPA) will appear on the transcript for students enrolled in the ABSN July 2014, BSN August 2014 and ABSN October 2014 cohorts based on the language in the Student Handbook. The Registrar's Office will include a signed letter from the Dean (verbiage below) which explains how a P” is equated with a 4.0 GPA in Roseman's P/NP grading system. This letter will be submitted to the external agency in the same sealed envelope as the official transcript. The letter will not be given to the student.Students enrolled in cohorts that started after October 2014 would receive a Pass ("P") or No-Pass ("NP") grade. For students who were enrolled, withdrew, and were re-admitted to a cohort that started after October 2014, grades earned after this date will be recorded using the "P"/"NP" system. If a student requires a GPA in addition to an official transcript as part of the admissions criteria for graduate programs or other external entities, he/she should contact the Registrar's office. The Registrar's Office will include a signed letter from the Dean (verbiage below) which explains how a P” is equated with a 4.0 GPA in Roseman's P/NP grading system. This letter will be submitted to the external agency in the same sealed envelope as the official transcript. The letter will not be given to the student. DEAN'S LETTER EXPLAINING THE GRADUATE'S GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA) Please review this explanation of Roseman University's College of Nursing's educational model and grading system prior to reviewing a candidate's transcript. Thank you. The College of Nursing embraces a competency-based educational philosophy in which all students are held to high standards of academic performance. A mastery model of education is used that requires a student to achieve a score of 90% or greater on each learning activity, including assessments to receive a grade of Pass (P”). In this educational system, scores for learning activities are never averaged nor graded on a curve. Students can only earn a grade of Pass (P”) or No-Pass (NP”). Likewise, there is not a range in a numerical GPA value. Thus, a student who receives a 90% or greater (P”) is considered to have earned a 4.0 GPA."
  4. According to Westminister College in SLC, UT which is the only program in Utah that offers a CRNA program. They accept roseman university. " The credit awarded is for coursework with grades of C- or better. Marks of credit (CR) or pass (P) are not accepted unless verified as equivalent to a C- or above. (Except physical education classes which are offered only for grades of CR or P.) They said as long as they receive a letter stating a P grade is equivalent to a A grade. They will accept it as a A grade
  5. What about the pass/fail grading system? Do you know of any grads going on to grad schools? Do you graduate with a gpa? Or no gpa? How do grad schools look at this pass or fail grading system
  6. Hi ICUman did you end up finding a RN to BSN program? I am currently at Ameritech now. I want to get my BSN also after. I did do some calling around. I am not interested in wgu because if there pass fail grading system, and they will cause me problems if I want to go to graduate school later. I looked into roseman university in south Jordan, it. Which is ACEN and regionally accredited but they just switched to a pass or fail grading system also! Ugh! The u of u accepts Ameritech RN program, but does not accept any general ed from Ameritech, which is fine because I did all my generals at Weber and the u of u but they do have a time limit on prereqs so I would have to retake a few classes which I don't want to do. Same with Weber state. They accept Ameritech but if you come from a non regionally accredited school they want you to have a AS degree in general studies or at least 60 credit hours completed at a regionally accredited school, but they have no time limit on prereqs. Only problem is Weber state RN to BSN program is highly competitive and gives most of their spots to ASN Weber state grads. I didn't call to any other schools, so if you have some other advice or schools that you would be willing to share please let me know!
  7. Wait a min. New York made you eligible to take the nclex, before they approved your license?
  8. Yes that is correct! But Weber state requires you to have a AS degree in general studies plus their prerequisites from a regionally accredited college if you have received your RN degree from Ameritech. I did my AS degree in general studies and all nursing prereqs online! I never went to class at all lol. I love online classes. Other than that, Weber, U of U, Utah valley, Boise state accepts RN degree from Ameritech! As long as general ed and prereqs are done at a regionally accredited institution. I am still debating where to complete my RN to BSN. I am leaning toward Weber state. But it is very very competitive! So we will see!
  9. There is a 12 semester limit on grants from FASFA. I am going to school on student loans and grants from fasfa. Yes Ameritech is approved for FASFA. I also applied to department of workforce services(utah) for state grants. And mountain America credit union was the only bank they listed for me. And FASFA the student loan limit is $56000k for a bachelors or as degree. Once you reach that you have maxed out. If you decided to go for you masters degree the max is like $120k in student loans.
  10. Hello! Yes I found out! I completed the application process! I have purchased my scrubs and everything. I am scheduled to start Jan 9th. I don't have to take any general ed and I test out and passed the math class. I won't know until December if I will start semester 2 because it depends on how many spots are available. As as far as finances, there not too many options. Financial aid, private loan through mountain America or grant/scholarships. My tuition is $35k. I received grant money and financial aid. I also applied for $4000 through Utah department of workforce services. My balance right now is about $10k. They let you pay per semester. I have to pay about $2500 every 4 months or before each semester begins. They won't let you make payment plans. The remaining semester balance is what you have to pay! good luck! Hope to see you in the program!
  11. Western governors university is a cheap, "regionally" accredited program. The other institutions are very expensive and are not regionally accepted. I would for sure steer away but I recently found out, the university of Utah, Weber state and westminister college (all regionally accredited institutions) will accept Ameritech RN degree for their RN to BSN program, but they won't accept any general education. So for example I received my AS degree in general studies at Weber state. When I called Weber state and the U of U they said they would accept Ameritech RN degree since they are ANCE accredited, but only as long as I completed prerequisites and any other general ed at a "regionally" accredited institution then I am good to go to apply. Otherwise if I did take my gen ed at a public or non regionally accredited institution I would have to start all over. Matter of fact Weber state requires non regionally accredited RN graduates who are apply must have a AS degree in general studies or any other higher degree from a "regionally accredited" institution. I did all my generals at a regionally accredited institution and transferred them in to ameritech, which saved me a grip load of money!
  12. So anyone have information about Ameritech financial department?? Are they good about you making payments? I enrolled and sent in all my transcripts, and all of the general ed courses got waived or transferred in. The program cost for me is $37k instead of $52k. With grant money and my financial aid loans my balance is now $20k. I got turned down by Mountain America credit union. But they make it seem like that's all my options??!!! I'm panicking!
  13. I work for IHC as a surg tech, they are hiring Ameritech grads like crazy!
  14. Hey it won't let me respond to you in direct message! Email me at my work address.
  15. So I went in to apply. I got a walk through of the campus. Filled out a application. Met with a admissions rep. And she explained the whole program. I then had my transcripts sent in. I don't have to do any general ed. So I will be a 2nd semester start student. But they said it depends on how fast I complete my application. I still have to test out of that math class. And the teas wasn't bad. Math is my strongest point but for some reason I got a low score in English. But I still passed. I have already paid for my background check and drug test. I believe the application deadline is dec 9th. So all I have left is the drug test to do and sign documents with financial aid and test out of the math class. So it depends how many spots are left in second semester. So I won't know until next month if I have been selected for a spot in January. If there aren't any spots I have to wait for May start date. But the first and second semester I can pay for my self it's not bad I have a $2900 balance for 2nd semester and then a $1200 balance for third semester. Fourth and fifth semester I have a $7400 and $9100 like that's too much. I applied to DWS for help so will see. But it was like an actually interview
