  1. I received a rejection letter from MHSE today. I saw a few people ask about this campus so thought I would update those who are still wondering.
  2. MH TMC is a dream for many, I would not pass that up. I'd love to hear what you ended up choosing.
  3. I got accepted. I also got accepted into San Jac and went to their orientation on Monday. I was going to just stay there since I paid for my scrubs and lab kit. I, however, got an email this morning from them about my math not being TSI, which is crazy since it is for HCC and ACC and I got a 98% on my HESI math section. So I need to get this all figured out today. Congrats to all who got in and big hugs to the ones that didn't.
  4. Told you-you had nothing to worry about Mermaid! Congrats!
  5. ^^^^ Agreed Mermaid-, you have great grades. You got this! I wish I knew why everyone raves about Alvin. I am trying to figure that out myself. I know they have great stats and NCLEX pass rates, but I have never hear anything more than that. I wonder how thier professors stack up. I would love to know why it is so great there, I have only lived here for almost a year and I have heard from many it is the program to be in if you can get accepted but no one has ever said why. HMM riddle me this Batman, off to research while waiting on emails!
  6. Nothing yet over here either. I too just got my acceptance to San Jac Central so super happy, hoping for Alvin as well though. Either way so excited I know I will be in a program this fall! Congrats to you.
  7. EEEEEK I just got my acceptance as well. So did a good friend! I am so grateful!!!! I am still waiting to hear from ACC today to see what the future holds. Either way I am soooooo excited I am finally in! Phew GOOD LUCK everyone!!!
  8. For Central or North? EEEK!
  9. Lol! For Spring they gave a date of Monday Nov 14th and sure enough by lunch the acceptance/denial emails were out. So fingers crossed! I got an acceptance email late yesterday from HCC, but hoping and praying for ACC.
  10. GPA 3.84 HESI overall 91.6 AP 88 Vocab 90 Grammar 92 Reding Comp 92 Math 96 I've completed Micro and Lifespan. I applied for Spring and didn't even make the alternate list. I was in progress of Micro and Lifespan though so hopefully this will do it.
  11. Awesome! The way I look at it, it's one last thing we need to worry about when we get into a program!
  12. I really would have loved to go to one, but the last one they had was March 7th or something like that and they weren't offering anymore. Maybe since they extended the deadline. I will have to check that part out.
  13. Oh gosh that's terrible! I am so sorry. These are the crazy technicallies about this process that drove me insane. You know we will need another flu vax before Fall semester. I hope you can get a hold of someone about this. I wasn't able to attend an informational meeting for San Jac. By time I realized it was a viable option to apply to San Jac they were not doing anymore informational meetings. I spent $85 and a Saturday 9-3, for my BLS/CPR at Red Cross only to submit it and get a rejection email from Castlebranch that it had to be from American Heart. So frustrating since HCC took my card from Red Cross. So then I had to spend another $80 and another day at American Heart. So ... anyone needs CPR I'm your girl lol.
  14. I believe you do. I just went to H-E-B to get a new one two weeks ago. It does seem strange considering we will have to get it again as soon as school starts. I especially feel bad for the applicants who had to shell out $$$ for insurance to apply.
  15. Thank you for the kind words nancydhernandez89! If you don't mind sharing what your rubric score was that you got into both locations? Thanks again for the kind words!
  16. I think this whole process makes you paranoid lol! I am applying to three schools and they all want different things. I feel like my brain is mush checking and double checking I am not missing something for each of them. I would be devastated to miss out on a technicality. ACC is my first choice and I am waiting to see if my updated HESI scores have been received. No fun the page is down and I can't make sure. Too early for a cocktail?
  17. I submitted mine the very beginning of September 2016. I had gotten an article 15 when I was in the Army. There was no criminal record or punishment, but it mentions article 15 on the background check form so I decided to better be safe than sorry. Oct. 21 I received a letter that it was going to the enforcement department and that I had to pay the $150. I submitted that within days or receiving my letter. Dec. 21 st I got another letter that the investigation was complete and they did not find anything that would permit me from not taking the NCLEX and being a nurse upon completion of a program. Jan. 16th I received the official outcome letter that allows me to take the test without any restrictions. Hope this helps, I wanted to look at exact dates for you to give you my personal experience. I know it can be nerve-racking working so hard to get this far waiting on a slip of paper. Keep your head up though, it was a pretty quick process for me considering so of the other experience I have read. I had a hard time finding anything more recent though. Good Luck!
  18. Do they not send them electronically? I hate that this day and age waiting for documents can be such a nightmare! I'm going through that with a transcript to HCCthat they literally got in May and Aug of 2016 that weren't ever evaluated.
  19. Welcome weegingernurse! Those are great stats! I don't know 100%, but only from my experience applying at ACC last semester, so I'd take it with a grain of sand. I applied last semester with a 4.0 but was "in-progress" in Micro and lifespan. My HESI was 88.4. I did not even make the alternate list. When I emailed to ask why and what the average scores were I was told everyone who got in were complete with preqs and core classes that were not nursing classes with an average GPA of 3.5 and HESI of 88. This time I am applying with all preqs and core classes done with a 3.85 and HESI of 92. I also applied at San Jac Central and HCC. Both of their deadlines are closing right before ACC so I would look into them asap if you want to apply to more than one school. I also don't know if you are aware that UTMB and UTHSC have accelerated programs that are 5 semesters as well, but you would be done with your BSN instead of ADN since you already have a bachelors in science. Hope this helps, those are amazing stats so keep your head up!
  20. Hey! I do not think the critical thinking section is required for San Jac. I needed it for HCC. On San Jacs HESI test info it does say that the critical thinking section is not used to determined for acceptance. Where did you take your HESI and what school code did you use? If at San Jac and it was on there I would not worry at all. I did email the nursing department to ask about when there would be some information meetings in March, and she replied back that there would not be any and that I did not need to attend one to apply. I kept that email just in case I will need it! I would have loved to attend one because I am nervous I will miss a step and be disqualified for some technicality. Speaking of technicalities and $$$ I took my BLS CPR at Red Cross last week only to find out that it had to be from American Heart for San Jac, super fun to do that class twice in one week ... not to mention the cost and time factor. I would be so happy and forget all this hassle if only I could get one of those emails in a few weeks ha ha. Where did you move from? We moved here this summer as well. I don't have enough posts to be able to use PM to give you my email/facebook. If you do though send me your info, I'd love to connect! Hold your head high, you have great scores, I will be saying a prayer for both of us! W
  21. I applied as well. Annoyed is an understatement. Wow, I feel like I have been running around town the last two weeks trying to get everything done. I didn't realize that the Central campus was close enough to me to make it worth applying. ACC is my first choice, but with how small of a group they have each semester, I need to broaden my chances. I had a really hard time finding a place to take the HESI since I took it at Alvin, but they do not require the critical thinking section like San Jac and HCC. Good luck to everyone, it seems getting into a program is going to be harder than school! I didn't attend an information meeting, so I hope I have everything I need when I turn in my application tomorrow. Here are my stats: AP I-A AP II-A Micro-B Overall GPA 3.85 HESI 92 Critical thinking 970
  22. Ickynurse! Wow. Did you have all of the in course classes that are not nursing classes done? I asked last application period what the average scores were since I too was not even on the alternate class. Karen said 3.5 GPA and an 88 HESI. I was in progress of microbiology and Lifespan is why I am guessing I didn't make the alternate list or at least hoping that was why. I too applied. Here are my stats GPA 3.85 HESI 92 I am complete with all preqs and courses in the program that are not nursing classes. I sure hope to at least make the alternate list this time. I applied to San Jac Central and HCC as well. ACC is my first choice though. This semester I am working on my BSN preqs, if I don't get in for Fall 17 I am just going to go that route. Good Luck!
  23. No I do not live in the tax district and have not taken classes there. I am assuming I didn't make the cut because more people ahead of me had all the classes in the program complete? I am in process this semester with Micro, and Life-span. After this semester I will have all the classes done except the actual nursing classes. I have a 4.0 and an 88.4 on the HESI. I will also be studying and retaking the HESI to have a better shot next go. At this point though I might as well just go straight for my BSN.
  24. I just got my email too. Didn't get selected either. I didn't even make alternate I am with you FutureRN_Taylor, God has a plan! I can't believe I didn't make alternate with a 4.0! Ouch lol.
  25. So what do you think the chances are that we hear tomorrow??? The wait is almost over! Worst case by Monday.....anyone heard anything?
