  1. I agree with all of the other comments on here encouraging you to retake that A&P course. I bet at one point MOST of us didn't do as well as we wanted to in a class and had to re-evaluate our study habits, our learning styles, our time management, etc. I took chemistry my first semester back to college after I had graduated with an English degree 3 years prior, and it really forced me to look at what I was doing wrong and how I could improve. As much as I hated dropping the class because it felt like defeat, I can honestly say I learned a lot from that experience, and it led me to research the most effective study skills and understand the difference between sciences and the humanities. This led me to do much better in subsequent science classes, and I eventually re-took chemistry and did well. You will probably enjoy more success if you do this first instead of panicking about your next nursing program.
  2. nursing 101 is supposed to be on Mondays and Wednesdays, and classes for the ATB are supposed to be on Tuesdays and thursdays. If you look at the times for nursing 101 from last semester, it should be the same. At least that's what I was told. Hopefully this grant doesn't throw everything off. Speaking of the grant, I have to wonder if it will truly be known in june. The government tends to move at a snail's pace.
  3. In reference to using phones to look things up, I know that our clinical sites strictly prohibit them being used. A friend said that youre not even supposed to bring them inside with you. I will definitely get a pocket drug guide and small calculator in that case!
  4. Hey guys, I was hoping some experienced folks could tell me what they think are some good buys for nursing school? We have to have Cherokee scrubs and white shoes, and my dad bought me a stethoscope already, but I was wondering if anything else is just really handy to have? i.e. watch, clipboard, stuff like that?
  5. Would you be willing to make me an avatar with like, just a ton of cats? Like as many cats as you can fit in one avatar. All of the cats in the world. My current one doesn't have enough cats.
  6. As a second to this, those tests actually have no scientific basis at all. It's a shame that employers still use them to some extent.
  7. I think that nursing 101 is a 7 credit class. Finally got my letter today! So relieved!
  8. Is no one allowed to register for nursing 101 until June?
  9. Oh man, that's frustrating. I hope they get the grant too. I totally thought the grant referred to the summer session though.
  10. I will have a lot of time this summer before I start in the fall, and a few study buddies and I are planning to do a weekly study session to just review everything from A&P one and two. Not that we didn't do well in those classes, but I've heard that they come back around again when it comes to pharmacology.
  11. Heck, I'll do you one better: get thee to a community college for pre-requisites! No reason to stay at a four year college without a nursing program and pay university tuition, even if parents are paying for it. I have a previous bachelor's, but I really love community colleges. I think they're seriously undervalued.
  12. I had 20 points, but I still feel like I'll believe it when I see the actual letter!
  13. I wonder if 13 points was their threshold for this session? A friend of mine said her classmate had 11 points and his status remains unchanged. I wish they posted the number of certain point values they accepted, that way others know where they stand.
  14. I live in Whiteford, so I'm not too far from Cecil County!
  15. Mine also changed to Nursing (RN). A friend said she got an email saying they sent out the accelerated acceptance packets today
