  1. HELLO REAL NURSE ALSO, YOU GO GIRL VERY WELL SAID. :D ALICIA
  2. Suzy k THANKYOU FOR YOUR REPLY! I dont feel we are so different. I to came from a strict catholic background, pulled away as i got older, now i am a christian. I know you probably wouldnt have thought huh! from the way i spoke to you i to questioned it myself.. I also feel when it comes to nursing we think alike. Patients first, improving the nursing profession, pt care, staffing, encouraging nursing and getting new blood to join in, so you see we are not so different there. I also feel that i owe you an explaination of why lpn! Started out as an aide did that for years hated it. Wanted more out of life decided to go back to school. Best choice i ever made, because i knew then what i truely wanted and that was to be a nurse. I started back to school my daughter the youngest, was only 1 years old. My husband has always been very supportive but i was so consumed with school i put my family on the back burner so to speak, and consiquently i almost lost him. I had to look at my life and decide what was more important to me and i chose my family. So i got my lpn and started working and i have been satisfied thus far. I am starting back to school next year, you know family older now will be much easier less stress to deal with because they need less of my time . I am only 36 and let me assure you i dont feel it at all. I am ready to continue.. I guess i just cant get enough of it!!! You see nursing comes from all walks of life, but in the most part trying to get to the same place! thanks again Alicia [This message has been edited by theboss (edited April 11, 2001).] [This message has been edited by theboss (edited April 11, 2001).]
  3. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont think ive actually laughed since ive been on this BB.. THIS WAS REFRESHING! Way to go nurs4kids
  4. Hello suzy k, I first want to say that my intentions were not to be harsh, rude, or any of the above, that was said on why lpn and no more suzy k . I have sat back for a while now reading the BB, responding to some and learning about others. I want to call a truice. I have to say that i was quick to respond without really understanding why i was doing it. If that makes any sence. And now i know!!!The reason why is this i hate the ole rn vs lpn issue and i took that out on you!! sorry !! Im not sorry for standing up for myself or others, just taking it out on you.. Some of your responses were i thought harsh on some and condesending. And that got me going also, but i could have done it more constructivly. So i would like to agree to disagree. I have been reading some of your posts and agree on some not on others, didnt respond because i didnt want to keep things going between us. I hope you can understand.. ALSO TO STUDENT SARAH, I am sorry if anything i said prompted you to write your post..that was not my intention, when i found this BB. Also i am not a young eater!! Frustrated at times yes but no canabalism here! [This message has been edited by theboss (edited April 08, 2001).]

  6. HEY SAMMY, how are things going? we are all worried about you !! please let us know how you are, we are all here for you.
  7. WOW THIS IS A PROBLEM! this person obviously has a big problem and while getting help should not be on the job to endanger pts, co-workers, and herself..NO IFS ANDS OR BUTTS!!!no one should be allowed to work while in this kind of shape...GETTING HELP OR NOT!!!ativan is also considered a narcotic that is why it is in lockup!!it is mind altering, may not be the right drug for her because obviously its not working or in this case also working to much!!!! 8. lots a people take medications and are still able to function and perform without complications. i have seen many people in the er that take ativan and yes they to get violent.. you have to ask yourself is she harming the pts or herself at work? if she is putting the pts in danger then as a nurse it is our responsability to report it. pts 1st. and if not leave her be. also it could be that the dose of ativan is to much for her or maybe she is taking something else also.. there is alot to consider but i would have all the facts before assuming or reporting. ( 2 cents )

THANKYOU MADCAT! i am an lpn and have been for 6 1/2 years now. when i first came to this website , the first thing i looked at was this post and i got furious. i work in the er and do everything the rns do. only because i have been taught by some awesome rns. i have 2 partners i work with and they have been wonderful to me and never once have i been made to feel beneath them..but reading this post made me realize that all rns are not that way , and that the ones i work with are great and i am proud to work with them.i have alot of respect for lpn friendly rns.. i plan to return to school next year for my rn and i wont forget where i came from. thanks again

last year we had a 46 yr old male present to the er ( drove himself ) diapheretic, cool, c/o L side c/p going down L arm and up into L side of neck . put him on the monitor and he was in VFIB we shocked him ( pt awake ) he said hey dont do that again. then went BRADYCARDIC gave him some atropine, after a minute went back into VFIB shocked him again ( still awake ) said , i said dont do that again . anyway he was having an acute MI, we started activase, heparin, and ntg ..and flew him to oklahoma city and he had tripple by pass surgery.. he had a big family history of heart disease, father died at age 44 of acute MI and brother had died at age 50 acute MI.. he came in the er 2 months ago and it was great to see him doing so well..that i think has been my most memerable code...
