  1. My original career goal was to be a physician-not a nurse for reasons I've already explained. At this point in time, I'm not sure if that's what I really want. The knowledge and responsibility/accountability are not the issue. Please address the topic of the discussion or move along.
  2. I apologize if this has already been asked. I recently completed a PMHNP program. However, I have been reflecting on my entire nursing career, thoughts about nursing/healthcare, the quality of my post-baccalaureate education, my personality, my strengths, my weaknesses, my mental health issues. I don't think I'm going to pursue the PMHNP career track. I was a suck *** RN. I never felt competent, confident, or safe. I didn't trust my skills and had to be "babysat" well past the expiration date. I job hopped alot when I couldn't cut it. I pursued a NP because of my goal to have a better understanding of the disease process and treating disease. I want or wanted to be a healthcare provider. I currently work as a clinical nurse educator for a contracting company that partners with pharmaceutical companies. I looking for potential career opportunities for MSN-educated nurses that are non-direct patient care. Thank you for reading.
  3. Hello. The program is online. There is one course where you do have to come to campus for 2-3 days.
  4. https://www.facebook.com/groups/820259668360593/?ref=share Please let me know if that works.
  5. Hello. Hopefully, we’ll have classes together.
  6. I've created a FB group for students enrolling in Wilkes University's PMHNP Program for Fall 2019 named Wilkes University PMHNP Fall 2019. It is a closed group. Please check it out.
  7. I see that I just got an email. I haven’t read it yet. Thanks for inquiring.
  8. INFJ/P. I work in correctional nursing. I will be a PMHNP student in the the fall. It’s interesting the number of INFJ navigating towards psych, hospice, or related specialities.
  9. I found out last week that I wasn’t accepted. Good luck to you.
  10. I’ve been accepted to Wilkes in Fall 2019 for this program. I wish everyone good luck. If you going, then see this semester.
  11. I’m only working in corrections right now. I haven’t heard anything back yet.
  12. Thank you for replying. Did you notice that your cohort had an average of over five years of nursing experience or was it a mixture between new grads and experienced nurses? Thanks again.
  13. Hello. I have 8 months of in-patient Psych experience and almost two years of correctional nursing. I’m working in correctional nursing now.
  14. I never attended Drexel University for undergraduate, so I cannot help you with your concerns. If I may offer a suggestion, there are existing threads about Drexel's ACE BSN program that you may want to explore. Here is a link to one: Good luck.
  15. Sometimes this is not enough....
  16. Maybe it’s too early in the application process and that’s why people haven’t commented yet? Technically, the application deadline for the PMHNP program is June 1. However, it was suggested to me, by an enrollment counselor at Drexel, to submit my application before February 1. I did that just that!
  17. In my opinion, it is one thing to have an opinion that differs from others. However, speech that disempowers or leads to the discrimination of others is inappropriate and shouldn’t be given a platform in any arena.
  18. I didn’t see this topic in a thread search, so I decided to create a thread. Is anyone applying to Drexel University’s Psychiatric Mental Health NP Program for the Fall 2019 semester? I just submitted my completed application last week. Also, if current students or applicants want to chime in, please feel to comment.
  19. Thank you for responding. I submitted the application and all of the required documents last week. Maybe I will hear back from them by mid-February? Wilkes U is having an online information session about their np programs next week, and I’ve registered for that. Good luck in your studies and congrats. PS-Do you mind if I ask you a few more questions? I could try to pm you if more appropriate.
  20. Hello. I did not apply to Wilkes University’s BSN-MSN PMHNP but to the MSN-PMHNP program (for nurses who already have a BSN). How long did it take for you to receive your acceptance letter after you had submitted you application and required documents? Thank you.
  21. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you.
