  1. Got my call this morn too around 10am...Congrats everyone! See you Friday.
  2. looks like the last two years calls didn't start going out until April 20th.....sighhhhhh another month to wait...
  3. Can anyone tell me how quickly classes fill up during registration? I work full time 1500-2300 so I want to know how hard its going to be to register for classes/clinical/labs before 1400...Thanks
  4. I retook Kaplan test...it's easier in my opinion and it's free. The only thing with Kaplan test is the study guide they provide is too broad in my opinion, considering the science section of the test is very specific to health science. I did some research on here and saw a few people complaining about the same thing and suggested "barons anatomy and physiology" you can get it on amazon for around 16 bucks I believe. I would study the Kaplan book except for the science section and then take the Barron's book and tab the chapters that are specific to the Kaplan test and only study that. When I did this I passed the test. The book is great and easy to read.
  5. I retook the test and passed so I could submit without worrying about it...I've heard of some people that were accepted for spring 16 with a waiver though.
  6. I keep seeing this on the post about CSN... CNA isn't a requirement for ADN 2017 for spring or fall...I asked the director of nursing about it and she stated there are NO CHANGES FOR PREREQS IN 2017
  7. You answered your own question....find another profession! If you had kids I would understand you staying in the job to support your family, but you don't. Move on, do something that makes you happy. Find Jesus
  8. So I just wanted to post about the Kaplan RN entrance exam because, I couldn't find a lot of info on it through this website. Mostly just people posting about their results and what not. I took the TEAS once and the Kaplan test 3 times. I failed the TEAS once and failed Kaplan twice. the book Kaplan provides isn't sufficient to pass the science portion in my opinion and could almost be considered a fact. I took all my bios including A&P classes and still failed. I did a little research after failing these test 3 times and found a post that said to buy another book like A&P for dummies or Barons EZ A&P. I took Kaplan test this morn and passed with an overall of 85%, my school looks at individual scores of the sections, but I won't get to much into that since I'm in Las Vegas and schools vary on what they require. What I did and what my advice is to take your test scores from Kaplan and look at what you are being tested on in the science portion I.e cardiovascular , electrolytes, etc (my test scores had each section broken down like this and showed how many questions you got wrong for each section in the science portion) and buy this barons book and only study those chapters, do the review sections in the back of each chapter. Also, study the reading, writing, and math section in the Kaplan book. This is the key to passing this test if you are having trouble passing like I did. this barons book is around 16 bucks and I order it from amazon, received about two days later. This book was my bread and butter as far as studying goes. It's easy to read and really helped lol obviously I passed the test. Anyway good luck to anyone who is having issues with the test and get this book! It really helped me lol I prayed a lot also 😂
  9. I took Kaplan test and failed already, when I wrote the program director they said the could basically waive my scores as long as they were within 5 points of the cut off so this time I took TEAS and came within 5 points of the cut off and asked if I could get a memo to apply anyway. They said they would take a look at my scores at let me know if this would be possible...trust me I would of rather just passed the damn test but Im really trying to start the program in JAN but dont have enough time to retake the test.
  10. So all my prereqs are completed and I just took TEAS V a few days ago..passed everything except english portion (56.7 cutoff is 60) and was wondering if anyone has been accepted into their program with a memo? Im meeting with the people in charge of the program next week to discuss my test scores and see if it is a possibility to apply. I guess I just wanted to know if anyone has gone this route before??? Thanks
