no random drug testing
Is it true that by law an employer in Maine has to give you 30 day notice for a random drug test?

Legalization of recreational marijuana
omg i'm trying to get the hell out of nursing just so i can have some peace of mind and smoke some pot on my day off. My nursing license should not be taken away for me smoking a joint on my day off . I have not consumed alcohol since 2008 though , and alcohol is the worst of the worst drug. I hope it's ok to smoke in Colorado or Washington someday lol

LTC vs Assisted living
YEs ! Assisted Living is where to be. No G-tubes, no medicare charting, no change of condition charting, no weekly summary, no audits. Also if an LPN at a SNF leaves work on time (7am-330pm) , they are CHEATING! , theres no way in hell that you could squeeze all that work into an eight hour shift , plus all those interruptions ugh i hate SNF's lol

LTC vs Assisted living
I work assisted living for a year now and i never want to back to SNF. We have close to 90 residents. I mostly apply all the ointments, do wound care, and handle as much telephone / calling Dr , Hospice duties as I can. I feel good knowing that I will always go home after 8.5 hours of work. I do worry though about getting sued by a pesky family member (we have 90 residents). Our supportive staff is good. I hope the Med Tech (Unlicensed) does not quit or else I'm going to have to pass meds for 90 people lol

I'm leaving California, Looking for a new state
I'd love to stay in CA but I'm trying to go to a University. I just dont want to go to an overcrowded Cal State school, that and my GPA is 2.8 . Cal State has higher standards now.

I'm leaving California, Looking for a new state
My license expires in 2017, I'm going on 3 years of experience as a nurse. If I have 3 years of experience, does that guarantee me a job when I move to another state? Is 3 years of LVN experience enough to get a job wherever I want?

Made my first med error
It happens , especially when you got 40+ people to medicate at a Convelescent Hospital. I mean it's not like you intentionally gave them the wrong med. you're only human, move on
