I’ve looked on their site and I haven’t seen this? Is it new?

My end goal is to have a DNP and teach nursing students who are going to obtain a BSN. There are a ton of BSN to DNP programs for APRNs, but have not yet found one that doesn't have an NP attached. Is the only option to do an MSN then the DNP? Thank you for helping!

I'm surprised no one responded to this! As you know from the other link I got NICU too! I see you are from CA. I too am moving from out of state! I am hoping TN is just as awesome as so many people have told me.

I'm 6 one so weeks from completing the NEU ABSN program and have loved every minute of it. There are some bumps along the way as with any college experience, but Ive found the professors to be very helpful and I have learned a ton. It's a hard program but no nursing program will be easy so you need to be ready to start the ground running. First semester is the hardest but it gets easier each semester.

I am on the Burlington, Ma campus. I know charlotte is still fairly new so cohort sizes are small. Idk if the schedule is the same, but I would recommend not having anything tie you down to times as there is always reviews for exams and other things that are good to go to last minute. I love the online portion as I can sit and listen to lectures more than once and at the time I want. I can pause and go back and listen again for writing notes. I am not in 3 out of 4 semesters and LOVING it!

Hi mjc2005, schedule is hard to pin down as it depends on the cohort. They have 1 day where you take your exams. My cohort and the new cohort that just started has exams on tuesdays but this changes usually semester to semester. You then have lab 1 day a week for the first two semesters, either wednesday, thursday, or friday for 3 hours. First semester you have 1 clinical which can be any day and time, the rest of the semesters you have 2 clinicals...again any time. The great thing I like about this program is the online component. So when I am not taking an exam, at lab or clinical I can do my class work any time of day or anywhere. Most schools you are there set days and times and that can be annoying. This program is very expensive so be prepared to drop some serious cash. the program itself is over 70k. The uniforms cost about 15-20 for each top and bottom and you need at least 2 pairs in my opinion. You need a name tag which is about $7. You will also need a stethoscope - any type really but I prefer the littman and they range from $40-200 depending on the style. You need a pen light, nursing scissors, etc. The books thankfully are not crazy except one here or there that is expensice but most times you either dont need the book or its an old version so they are cheap. There is a $600 ATI program you buy in your 4th semester to help increase your chances to ace the NCLEX and it is required as well. Hope this answers your questions

I'm in my first semester and lab is the same every week and only 3 hours. Clinicals will be scheduled days too but you are out into them depending where you live and which semester you are in. Exams are the same day every week and an hour long. There is an awesome lounge though so being able to stick around and meet people or study is a good idea. This program is much less time committed to be somewhere than others

So because it is a second degree program there are no grants a school can give for them. I did however receive a 6k scholarship for the entire program. I ended up choosing to go somewhere else though as Manchester was just too far of a drive for me.

I had a 2.83 GPA from my previous degree. But I had a 4.0 in my prerequisites. I wouldn't worry too much because so many people said my GPA was too low from my Original degree but I got into 3 school so I wouldn't worry too much. Also going for a tour is a good way to get to know the school and show them you are interested

I was just admitted to the Spring 2017 start and have a ton of questions for you guys about to start. I want to be able to buy stuff here and there so its not a total money shoveling event right before classes. Can you give any insight into their requirements for a stethoscope, shoes, books they require...I want to know all the information I can gather!

It's official I paid my deposit! So excited to start in January!!!!

I finally got a decision last night! I have also been Accepted! Do you know the amount of the deposit by any chance that we need to send to hold our spot in the program? They are usually $500 to $1000, so I want to be able to make sure I have it set aside.

I recommend applying to MCPHS in Manchester Nh. It might be farther away and not in Boston but it has good reviews the other locations don't. They receive less apps for January start so less competition. It's another option!

I was rejected as well. Oh well - I was accepted to MCPHS in Manchester, so I at least have one school and that is all that matters to me at this point in my life. I have 2 more schools to wait for to make my final decision. Good Luck and Congrats to all who were accepted you ROCK!

Hey CiaMia - I would love to PM you and ask you loads of questions, unfortunately I have not posted enough for this website to allow me to do that just yet. I think you wrote in another board a little bit about the program structure. Can you answer a few questions for me about the program? 1. If you were to do it all over again, would you choose MCPHS in Manchester again? Why? 2. One is one part of the program you wish they would do that other schools might do? 3. Does the school allow you access to the skills lab when you are not scheduled to be there to practice? 4. Since this is the only school I have applied to that is full on classroom 8-5 Monday thru Friday - did you find the other time (evenings and weekends was enough to really study and do well? Thank you for your help!

yes of course! yea the 900 second rule is the worst especially when you are trying to have an important conversation about important things like school!

I double checked my copy of the application - you are right no recommendations were needed. If they are taking 60 students this year that would be awesome - since most schools are around that number anyway. I'm surprised they haven't opened up another start date throughout the year given the number of applications they receive. Good luck everyone! Lets hope the next few days speed by quickly!
