  1. I haven't started yet actually! My start date is October 15. What I will say is that they are an extremely professional organization and their new grad program runs like a well-oiled machine. They've had several cohorts and they hire for both the adult and peds hospitals at the same time, so it keeps things very organized. The HR department and leadership have been very pleasant and flexible to work with. I'm not sure what the pay increase schedule looks like but if you spend your two years there and decide you don't like it, you should be able to obtain a job pretty much anywhere you want! I will say that the rent is SO much less expensive to live in the city than you might find elsewhere, and the city of Nashville has an endless amount of things to do. The apartment complexes are very nice and the city loves Vandy employees! It's obviously a personal choice if you would like to accept the offer, but when I thought about the experience I would be getting and lower cost of living, it made it worth it for me. Plus the differentials are quite generous compared to what I've seen from other hospitals :)
  2. The pay they send you is without shift differential, you can see my earlier reply with the differentials currently offered to nurses :)
  3. Hi everyone! I'm a new grad from the Fall 2018 group in the NICU, and I thought I would share the pay information, since you won't receive that unless you get an offer, and I searched high and low for that info. Starting pay is $23.05/hour. Night differential is $3.00/hour 7pm-11pm and $3.50/hour 11pm-7am. Weekend differential is $6. Good luck to you all!
  4. At Sharp Memorial Hospital, they are the only ones with a PACU program to my knowledge
  5. Idk if everyone got the same email - I guess the Memorial PACU residency is cancelled
  6. Same! It'll be a fun change for sure. I love SF, it's so expensive though, it's crazy!
  7. Same! What part of CA are you moving from? I pretty much grew up in San Diego so this is going to be a big change, but I'm super excited :)
  8. Hey guys! I'll be starting in the NICU, moving from San Diego, CA!
  9. I got an offer from the NICU also! I accepted and I'm super excited!
  10. Did anyone get interviews or hear anything yet?
  11. Hi everyone! I didn't see a post for the Vanderbilt NRP starting in October 2018, so I thought I'd start one! I'm hoping we can all share information and help each other out! I applied for an just interviewed with the NICU at the Children's Hospital :))) My dream unit! What units did everyone apply/interview for?
  12. I am almost done with my paperwork, just waiting on the TB test to be verified!
  13. Pre-orientation is what we pay for with our "orientation fee." We will receive our skills lab kits, uniforms, etc. Orientation will be the first day of class, which is that Tuesday. That is if I understood Gwendolyn correctly... She did say we would receive all of the important dates and whatnot by the end of this week, so we will all be in-the-know soon!
  14. Hi everyone! I was also accepted with a score of 94.04 I am so excited! I called today, Gwendolyn told me pre-orientation will be Monday 9/26 and our first day of class is 9/27. We'll be receiving our official acceptance letters by the end of this week along with relevant paperwork and immunization instructions.
