Middle School- Grades 6-8 Any suggestions on how to prevent students from texting/calling their parents (they are not even supposed to have their phones out) asking to go home because they are "sick" ...but they have not even been assessed by the nurse (myself) yet? This is happening quite a lot recently! Should I try to help combat this...or just let it go? HELP

I'm new and it's only my first week...i don't joy know if switching offices is an option. I don't want to make a big stink. No bathroom I understand, but no sink or any form of running water? How would I wash out kids' cuts/eyes etc!?

Whyyyyyy do I not have a bathroom in my clinic (or even a sink) but the book keeper has bothfl in her office?!? This is so inconvenient, I have to fill up a water pitcher for medications multiple times a day!!! And keep ice in a cooler for ice packs!! Advice???

I have 6 months of nursing experience, applied on a wim and got hired! I start 02/13. I never expected them to even call me back, much less hire me! BUT...they said they loved me!

Following...I start as a new middle school, school nurse 2/13

I start my new job 02/13 as a school nurse at a local middle school (grades 6-8) I am so nervous and not really sure what to expect! My passion is children. I am the mother of a 10 year old, and a licensed foster parent for the state. THIS is my absolute dream nursing job and I am also lucky enough to be staying on PRN with my current job at the hospital. I am so surprised to have gotten hired with only 1 year nursing medical surgical experience. Any tips or advice? Anything is greatly appreciated! I am SO excited!
