Brick & Mortar NP Programs- are they no longer a thing?
I go to a brick and mortar NP program in WI. For gods sakes, don't call yourself a future "midlevel." That term only exists in DEA prescription authority administratively. Its a word physicians use to demean us. Don't use it.

Black Sheep...time to leave?
Find an ally. Go out of your way to befriend someone on your shift. Find out about who they are, people love to talk about themselves. Then slowly start doing coffee or social events together. You don't need to be friends with everyone, or even most people, just start with one person.

No RN experence NP "non-nurse"
I'm talking about new RN's. They are incapable of taking care of a patient and must survive a lengthy orientation to be safe to practice. Advanced nursing is based on the nursing skill set, if one does not have that skill set, success may be extremely difficult.

No RN experence NP "non-nurse"
Becoming an RN simply gives you permission to enter a hospital and learn how to be a nurse. I precept many new graduates, they are incapable of performing their jobs without a lengthy orientation. Advanced practice nursing is based on the nursing skill set. If you don't have that skill set I fail to see any path for success. Those "studies" you posted are horrible and are no better than opinion for the reasons I have pointed out earlier. I have known NP's who did not work as RN's that were removed from their positions because they were incapable of performing their jobs based on a lack of healthcare experience, they had to work as a RN before being allowed to work as an NP. You are absolutely setting yourself up for failure, and arguing with the people who are trying to give you sound advice.

Online Psych NP program without experience?
NurseShawn, An RN licensure simply gives you permission to enter a hospital and spend a year LEARNING how to actually be a RN. If you don't understand that you will have a difficult career ahead of your. Good luck.

No RN experence NP "non-nurse"
A convenience sample from 11 years ago from 3 schools all in one geographic area with response rate of 21% (one was 11%!) is not a rigorous study. There are too many limitations. There is no blinding and the methods section is a bit vague. The null hypothesis itself brings to mind both research and confirmation bias may play a significant role in the study outcomes. The study merely suggests more research is needed.

Calling all student NPs...how are you doing?
Finishing my 2nd semester, about to start my third this summer. It's a lot of work and stress but I'm surviving so far.

Men in the nursing field, is there a problem?
As an ICU nurse I will never perform peri care on a female within 25 years of my age without another RN in the room with me. It's just safe practice, you never know who you are taking care of or what their history is.
