I have those days too. The holidays are usually when I have a harder time. My husband and I look at my addiction like this... it's like cancer, it can come back anytime. ( I'm not saying cancer is like being an addict ) . Addiction can come back anytime. Cancer can come out of remission. Get it? They number one thing that helps me not relapse is looking at my 3 sons. I gotta keep it together for them. :)

How to juggle as an LPN
I once was like you. You are a fairly new nurse. You need to fiND your rythm. Prioritize. Prioritize .I don't know if your facility allows it. I always leave my charting till last. Unless it's something that needs to be documented asap. I make sure patient care, meds and all my treatments are done. That way I can thoroughly chart on my patients. Your supervisor was harsh no doubt. I'm curious to know do you have a nurse manager there. Never be afraid to ask them for help it's part of their job. I was fortunate to have an awesome nurse manager on my first Lpn job. Hang in there

I feel like nursing school didn't prepare me for work
I know of other nurses as well as myself that were not given a proper orientation. Especially towards new grads. This just seta them up for failure

I feel like nursing school didn't prepare me for work
I totally can relate. I got my license 6 years ago. The first 2 years as a med nurse were awful. I made mistakes as well. I also think not being trained properly and the short orientation I went through set me up for failure.

cravings
I have 3 years of sobriety. Cravings never go away. Atleast for me. I have found that certain things trigger the cravings. So if I can absolutely avoid it, I will. As more time passed I found ways to not help the cravings. Trust me I have my days. A few times I went to meetings all day and got support from fellow recovering addicts. It is true a good support system helps :)

How to forgive yourself
My addiction opened my eyes to prayer. If it wasn't for prayer I would not still be sober. Thats what helped me. One Day I Realized All This anger I Had took Way To Much consumed too much energy. That day I just let it go. I can't change my past. I no longer look and dwell in the past, this results on depression. I don't even try to look ahead to the future which caused my anxiety. I simply take one day at a time. Just like they told me when I did my 12 steps
