  1. Don't allow that to be a concern. Just be honest about your situation. They want to know about your faith, but I certainly would not say that it is a deal-breaker if you express that you aren't a Christian believer. Just be transparent. If you're working on yourself, say that. If you are unsure about religion, but curious and wanting to learn, just say that. Honesty would be appreciated much more than your religion or lack thereof. But to answer your question, not everyone is "super religious". While the majority are Christian believers, not everyone in the program is.
  2. Not exactly true. Union is credentialed through 2022. An issue would arise with credentialling and being accredited if they are unable to hire new faculty. Hence is why a teach-out method is being discussed. If they don't have faculty, they don't meet the guidelines that the credentialing body expects the school to follow. & if Union did lose credentials as a result of no faculty, it would actually go into effect this year, rather than 2021. If new faculty are hired, credentials will be retained, and re-credentialing would still occur in the expected year of 2022. Credentialing is done every 10 years, unless a major change occurs, which is now the case, and that may be why you're hearing that rumor.
  3. It's a COA (Council on Accreditation - Credentialling body for anesthesia programs) requirement that she updates current and potential students of what is going on and the situation that the program is in. Currently enrolled students get a weekly update because of this requirement. Also, if there is hope for the program and she is able to hire new faculty, there has to be an incoming class. That being said, in the midst of all that is going on, there has to be something that gives those interested in matriculating a reason to continue to pursue Union's program. And the only thing to offer is communication. I just hate that it's not coming from someone that I have learned to be a not so trustworthy. Please do understand, prior to this issue, I had no problems with her at all, and she SEEMED like a very nice lady. But since this issue came about, a lot more has been revealed and true colors are starting to show. I'm not saying lose hope, because we as currently enrolled students have to keep the hope as well. The last thing that we want to do is relocate, as many of us have already had to do. We would simply like facts, and I think it will take some time to receive factual information. So just hang on tight, and have a plan B just in case things don't work out. Best wishes with everything! I hope things ultimately work out, and you guys able to matriculate in.
  4. Over the phone, I am sure she was extremely nice and personable. But one thing that I can promise you, she definitely was not "upfront". She talks a good talk, but she hasn't even been upfront with the currently enrolled students. The word that comes to mind is conniving. We are hopeful as well, but I am convinced at this point that she is the root of the problem. Trust me when I tell you, we looked into Union for many of the same reasons you did, its an excellent program. The current faculty is what has made it such an excellent program. I just hope that she is able to recruit staff that can uphold the standards and excellence that has been established. & if you knew the current professors, you'd realize why that is going to be a difficult feat. Nonetheless, not saying the outcome won't be good. I'm simply saying be mindful because she talks a good talk, but as we know, talk only goes so far. We need results. & this is not an attempt to be negative about the situation, there's been enough negativity to go around, and I prefer to see the glass as half full. I just like for people to be informed. Best of luck with the process!
  5. That's certainly the way it feels. It is very unfortunate. & yeah @S3682, if things did happen to work out, and they were able to hire faculty, they would have to have an incoming class to keep the program going. So regardless of what the situation turns into, they are going to accept new people until it is determined that the program will close, a teach-out is established, etc. We dont know much of anything. We're just hopeful at this point.
  6. Yeah, Scott.. I would have to agree with SRNA-UU. I am an anesthesia student at Union as well. Just based on your statement, you seem to be a bit vulnerable or simply unaware of the extent of this situation that Union is facing. You’re not alone. There certainly are others that simply believe that everything will work out perfect and no additional issues will arise. & they too may be vulnerable as well. Don’t get me wrong, everything may very well work out just fine, but wishful thinking guarantees nothing. The fact of the matter is, no program is inevitable. When something to this extent occurs, it is more than capable of causing a program to close its doors. I’m a pretty positive individual by the way, so please don’t make the assumption that I am also being “negative”. I’m simply being a realist and telling you the truth. Your optimism is great! Heck, we are all hoping for the best, but at the same time, it is never a bad idea to be prepared for the worst. Do what’s best for you, but never regret your decisions. Good luck.
  7. Congrats to each of you that have been accepted! I am a current student and I can attest that you have been selected by a phenomenal program with professors that truly want you to succeed. Feel free to holler if you have any questions. Those of you that are still waiting to hear something, don't stop the grind. Although it is so easy to give up, you have what it takes! It is a matter of how bad you truly want it. Keep your head up, remain grounded and try again until you reach that ultimate goal! It'll be SO worth it. Remember, all you need is ONE YES and that'll be the first day of the rest of your life. That YES is closer than you think, the ball is in your court! God bless!
  8. Just got a phone call also, God is so good! I hope that we can all reach this goal guys! If not accepted, don't stop trying. God's timing is 100% perfect. Best of luck to everyone!
  9. If accepted, you receive a call and an email. But everyone receives an email or a letter. Although Monday is the hopeful day, just keep in mind that it could be as late as the next Monday after Thanksgiving.. Just keep your self busy, best thing to probably do at this point, I understand how you feel.
  10. Yikes! That's tough, sorry to hear that. Thanks for the confirmation also. Hope you're not delayed for very long. How was your interview?
  11. Cool. Yeah, I interviewed Monday, I was just thinking of everyone else that had to interview tomorrow. Is tomorrow the last day? I've heard that they are interviewing all week, but has anyone yet heard of anyone interviewing on the 16th?
  12. I hope nothing changes with the weather. I feel like since people are coming from all over, interviews can't be cancelled, but it was still just a random thought of mine. Everyone stay safe and warm!
  13. That's my same thought. It's like they're so nice, it's almost hard to know if you did good or bad lol. It's a matter of hoping they also feel like it went well. I hope we all get good news.
  14. "I interview on Thursday. Will be exhausted but will try to not let it show" Are you driving down the day of? Where are you coming from?
  15. Lol. That's kind of funny. Not in a mean way haha. I think the nervousness came natural for the most of us. I actually stopped mid sentence a few times and had awkward pauses lol. They can probably easily notice those things, but I still think it went well overall. We will all think back about things that we wish we would have said or done differently, but the fact of the matter is that our interviews went/will go exactly how they are supposed to. I actually told them I was a bit nervous lol and I'm usually not the nervous type.
