What is your take home pay as Nurse Practitioner?
I do make sure to take atleast 3 weeks off in a year. I have my own S Corp, so don’t pay as much in taxes, I get full paycheck in my acct. by end of the year, how much I pay is dependent on what my costs were. But I can assure you, its alot less in taxes than I would be paying as a W2 employee.

NYU DNP Fall 2021
I started NYU DNP in 2020 (I had already completed MSN and Post masters before starting the program), so feel free to ask away any questions you may have. I am enjoying the program thus far, although it may seem like a lot of work at times due to working full-time and managing this degree and home life. But faculty is good and generally cares and is very easy to reach out to well worth the money in my opinion.

Average 15k a month on 1099, I can make unto 20-22K a month depending on how much I want to work. Monthly or bi-weekly? Biweekly 7-8k Salary/hourly/other(explain)? Do you invest?
Great thread! I am also planning on purchasing an investment property which will hopefully pay it's own rent and throughout the years, it's value will increase, I have a good amount in savings but just do not know what to do with it. Perhaps real estate is the way to go. Like a few of you mentioned, I wish my employer matched 401K! They do not match, but I wonder if it is a good idea to contribute it to that account regardless of the employer matching it or not?

Nurse Practitioner Contract Negotiation
Hi, The salary this person is offering is WAY TOO LOW for your area. I am in NYC, passed my AANP in August, and started working in a rehab facility seeing 15 patients a day for 125K Base, PLUS 30 PTO's, CME and DEA reimbursement. Please do more research and do not take up this offer!

United Healthcare Housecalls
Hi Ashley, I will be applying with this company after finishing my certification. I will graduate next month and hoping will be able to take the certification for Adult-Gero Primary NP in July. I will definitely keep you notified of what happens. At this time, I can't help you as I still have a month left for graduation. However, I don't think this experience will hurt you in the long run, it depends on what type of a traveling NP you would want to be, doing house calls/Office Setting or Long term care. I would think they will accept your experience in long term/house calls, not sure if it would be in primary care. I also know UHG has jobs all over the nation perhaps you'd like to transfer with them once you're in The west coast.

Hi BKLYNbaby, Thank you so much for your helpful advice. I agree that I should probably wait until graduation and to be certified so this way I can be fully eligible for the position and can start right away if things work out. I appreciate your timely response :-)

United Healthcare Housecalls
Hi BKLYNBaby, Thank you for responding to this thread, is your friend employed in NYC? I will be graduating in 2 months as an NP and am really interested in working for UHC, and was wondering if they would consider a new grad and when I should start applying. I live in Staten Island and see openings here and just don't want it to be filled by the time I have my certification lol. P.S. I do have home care and LTC experience as an RN of ~5 years. Thanks.

United Healthcare Housecalls
Hi SStammer, I am an Adult-Gero NP Student, set to graduate this May 2016. I have just started my job search and found UHG Long term care NP position quite interesting. I have been an RN for about 5 years and most of my RN experience has been with gerontological population ( Nursing home & Home care). I am in NYC, I am interested in working with them. Would you suggest for me to apply to their position now or wait until I get certified? I thank you in advance for your help.
