Washington State University Spring 2020 BSN
I can't speak to how many are interviewed versus how many are accepted. But overall, I think the acceptance rate was about 25% for Spring 2020, and it is a bit more competitive for transfer students. They told us during orientation that for every person enrolled, there were three applicants who were not granted admission. The interview is a really pleasant experience. They have current students available to sit with you while you wait for your interview. It's a nice chance to ask students about their experience. The interview itself is with two members of the faculty (or staff). It's very conversational. Be ready to discuss why you want to be a nurse, why WSU is the right fit for you, and demonstrate that you understand the role of nurses in healthcare. It's your time to sell yourself! As noted previously in this thread, I think it would be a good idea to be familiar with the WSU College of Nursing's core values and think about how your own values and desire to be a nurse aligns with them. It would also be valuable to have a generic understanding of the College of Nursing curriculum. You'll do great!

Washington State University Spring 2020 BSN
Hi everyone. Check your email! I received my letter of acceptance this morning. I was accepted as a transfer student to the Spokane program. I'd like to organize a meetup in the coming weeks for those of us who will be attending the program in Spokane. If you're accepted to Spokane, please leave a comment on this thread. I so look forward to meeting you! Good luck to you all!

WSU BSN SPRING 2020
Hey there! I started a thread for WSU spring 2020 when the application opened a few months ago. I think its called "Washington State University Spring 2020 BSN" if you want to search for it. There's only a few people who have posted to it so far, but I think some have posted their stats. I applied to Spokane as a transfer. This is a second career for me. My undergrad GPA was around a 3.5, my nursing prereqs are probably like a 3.7 or 3.8 or something (all A's and one B in statistics - math is so not fun!), and my TEAS score was a 91.3%. I don't have much volunteer/patient care experience, but I did work in health/human services policy for a number of years so I'm hoping that will help me out a bit. I'm both anxious and excited to hear about interviews in a few weeks!

UMSON CNL Fall 2019
@elegantcheese I was under the impression that UMSON looks heavily at performance in stat and chem, so maybe prioritize those courses? Also, I took microbiology before chemistry and really wished I'd done it the other way around. There's a fair amount of (very) basic chemistry in microbiology. @ak4ever I'm doing my prereq's at Prince George's CC in Maryland. I've have a good experience there, and they offer lots of evening and weekend courses for people like me who work full-time during regular business hours.

UMSON CNL Fall 2019
Hey @elegantcheese! I attended the open house two years ago when I had just begun thinking about changing careers and hadn't started my prereq's. It was an amazing event and played a role in me deciding to go ahead and put in the work to complete the prereq's and go to nursing school. I was a poli sci major in college, so I had to pretty much start at the beginning on the prereqs! I, too, am aiming for a December 1 submission. I'm currently taking my last prereq for UMSON - chemistry! Are you local to Baltimore? I'm down in the DC area. I'm also curious if you're applying anywhere else?

Salisbury University ABSN 2019
Hello! Anyone out there planning to apply to Salisbury University's ABSN program beginning fall 2019? Applications aren't due until December 1, but I figured it's never too early to start a thread here. I'd love to hear from other hopeful applicants and also from any current students and graduates from this program. How has your experience been at Salisbury?

UMSON CNL Spring 2019
Hey everyone! Anyone interested in sharing stats and experience? This is a total career change for me, so I don't have any health care experience (which worries me) but I do have some health policy experience. My undergrad GPA was 3.43 (political science) and I have A's in the prereq's I've taken so far (but I got a B in general biology and some really low grades in the math classes that my college required me to take before enrolling in chemistry - yikes). I'm taking stat and lifespan this summer and then I'll finish up my prereqs with chem in the fall. I'm also curious where ya'll are from? I'm in the DC area and doing my prereq's at PGCC. You?

George Washington University ABSN Summer 2017
Hi everyone! Congrats on your acceptances! I won't be applying until the fall, so I'm just lurking here, reading your posts for insight into the application process. Anyone care to share more information about the new scholarship opportunity with GWU hospital? I am local to the area and GWU is my top choice mostly for the W2 scholarship, so I'm interested in learning about this new opportunity! Thanks!

CNL Applicants - Spring 2016
Hi everyone! Congrats on being accepted - I bet you're all super excited to be started on the journey to become a nurse! Is anyone willing to share where you did your prereq's? My comment/question is directed toward those who have been admitted and nursing is your second career (no employed health care experience) and you had to take pretty much all of the prereq's before you could apply. Did you take your prereq's at a community college or a four-year? I am considering splurging for my science/lab prereq's through the UMD-College Park campus's "Science in the Evening" program because it seems like pulling off an A at UMD would weigh better than an A from a community college, but community colleges are so much cheaper! I know UMD accepts cc credits, but given how competitive admissions is I'd love to hear your thoughts and learn where YOU had success :)
