  1. I just got pulled off of the waitlist for phoenix! I am so, so overjoyed. But I guess I have a bit of a choice to make. I got into an accelerated BSN program that would be 12 months for 18,500. So, I guess I am curious if anyone else has found the reasoning to pay the extra 30,000 for the MEPN? U of A is such an impressive name, obviously. And ofcourse a masters degree is ideal. But, I guess I am trying to seek more sound advantages for the MEPN. Can any former students perhaps attest to if it is THAT influential? Just trying to make a good business decision here. It seems as though I could get a BSN in 12 months for 1/3 the price, and go back to get my MSN for a then graduate-level tuition level? I hope this makes sense.
  2. Alternate list guys, they really made it through a bunch last year so congratulations! Keep us posted. Good luck guys. And I'm trying to figure out living too...
  3. Did anyone else hear back? I can't believe it but I'M IN!!!
  4. Thank you so much, HouTx for your encouragement
  5. Thank you so much for your advice. I applied to UA MEPN, their approach to taking the cumulative of the last 60 is very beneficial.
  6. I am seeing some posts about skepticism of the MEPN as opposed to other Masters of Nursing programs. If I had the choice, I would pursue a true MSN. For the same time commitment, why not! It is more widely recognized when applying for nursing jobs too. But I don't have the academic record to warrant my choosiness, so the MEPN would be an honor for me.
  7. I look at previous years, it looks like 2015's cohort heard back this week. The year prior heard back at the end of February. THIS IS GONNA BE AGONIZING haha
  8. Not yet, it's seemed like an eternity. haha.
  9. So, I still haven't heard anything. I am assuming that means I'm not in, as they likely sent a batch email for acceptance/wait listed. Has anyone received an e-mail for denial of acceptance? My interview went really well, looks like my grades couldn't do it for me?
  10. Still haven't heard back! I wonder if they sent them in a batch e-mail?
  11. Hey! I am preparing for an interview this year! Is there any way you still have the pdf? Thank you!
  12. Hey everyone! I could really use some help. I hold a bachelor's degree in a differing field, and unfortunately have a cumulative GPA of 2.7. I am finding that most ABSN programs have the basic requirement of a 3.0 cumulative GPA, disqualifying me from even being considered I have found one program so far that only looks at, or heavily weighs, my Pre-Requisite GPA. I am thinking I'll qualify for only programs such as this, as my Pre-Requisite GPA is way more impressive. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I appreciate your assistance so very much. I am also in Arizona, and while I would like to stay on the West Coast I am willing to go just about anywhere.
  13. Good call! Sorry to distract the mission here! Good luck everyone! I will let you guys know what I hear back
  14. Thank you so much for your advice there. I went to an ASU info session a couple of years ago, but it's so hard to receive updated information on their admissions process as they point most people towards attending the sessions! I am preparing to take the HESI in about a week or so for GCU and a few Texas schools due 2/1, I was hoping I could cram that in. I will try to apply to ASU, if I am able to fit the TEAS in in that time. Thank you for your encouragement. And thank you for your encouragement! I am in my second year of applying, and have already been denied again to a couple of programs. I just am so, so eager to begin. Have you also found that it seems harder to get into a traditional program? I feel most traditional programs look at your cumulative GPA as opposed to prerequisite GPA... and some schools that offer accelerated don't let you apply to traditional if you have a bachelor's degree in another field. Also, totally feel you on the Kaplan writing portion! So, so annoying. I studied grammar like crazy prior to my taking it, but I noticed the more subjective "style" portions of grammar decisions, those scored in the "development" section of the score report were so hard to discern. I struggled most with that aspect of the writing portion.
  15. Did anyone else feel like the science portion of the Kaplan had multiple questions with arguably correct answers? I did. And I have since looked into them and feel its true. Anyways! Egaddy, congratulations on getting into ASU! I am in Phoenix, but thought that ASU was the hardest accelerated program to get into. I'm running into a huge problem with my cumulative GPA, just at a 3.0 as I have accumulated so many college credits over the years in differing fields. :/
