  1. I see, thanks Spankydoodle!
  2. Thank you. I got the acceptance letter on Wednesday.
  3. Hi all, I also got accepted for the summer term, I'm so excited to get in! What email address should we use to email back our acceptance letters?
  4. I called the office and was told that the admissions decisions for both the summer and fall terms should be emailed by Wednesday 3/30.
  5. Congratulations kflo55 and Gradschoolapplicant8! I recommend you reach out the current/former students through the MEPN facebook page. After talking to few of the current/past students I learned that students have excellent clinical preparation. The program has a great reputation in the area and because of this MEPN students get their first choice for clinical sites and also have an advantage in getting hired for their first job. What I don't like about the program is that each class is usually taught by 3 or more instructors and according to the students I talked to, that can be a frustrating experience if the faculty members teaching the course are not organized. I also don't like the fact that many courses are offered only online. With our cohort, there will be even more courses moving to the online platform. I called the office and it seems that pharmacology will be one of those courses. I have had mixed experience with online courses. In some of the online courses I have taken in the past, I had to memorize large volumes of information without knowing what's important and that was a frustrating learning experience. I just hope that the online courses will be able to focus us on what information is important. I'm in a similar situation, deciding on what program to chose. Can you guys share any information you learned about the program?
  6. Hi Apisha, I received an email from the nursing department at the end of January: A-BSN Application Status Dear A-BSN Applicant, Your application has been reviewed and is complete. Your application has been referred to the Nursing Admission Committee to be reviewed for admission to the nursing program. Email letters are scheduled to be sent out in the later part of March 2016. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
  7. Cyclone67, thanks for the info. 1000 clinical hours sounds great! How do you search for housing? Craigslist? When I first moved to California I was able to find extended stay specials for me and my two dogs through craiglist. Also Motel 6 allows (or used to allow) dogs...but that might be expensive.
  8. Hi Cyclone67, I was able to get into the Tucson program.
  9. Hi cyclone67, good luck with your housing search! I wonder if there will be more housing options closer to the start of the term as many students might be leaving for summer. Also, I talked to one of the students and he shared that many retirees from Canada or other parts of the US come to Arizona for winter and leave in March/April. What is the number of clinical hours required for the MEPN program?
  10. I see, I'm almost there. Thank you labellevie!
  11. Hi labellevie, Thanks for directing me to RNtobe2016. How does the PM message work?
  12. I also received the admission to the university (not the nursing program). I plan on visiting the campus and hope to talk to the current students before or after their classes. Does anyone know what is the schedule of the current students like?
  13. I talked to a current student and I was told that that the program has a really good reputation. Students have a good clinical preparation, that's good to know! One thing that I don't like about the program is that many of the courses are taught online. I was told in the current cohort, even more courses will be moved to online/hybrid structure.
  14. Thanks so much for the info labellevie!
  15. Hi All, I just came across the following information in the CSUN university catalog: The Accelerated B.S.N. Option is on hiatus. Admission has been suspended as of Fall 2017. The program is not accepting applications at this time. Nursing, B.S.N. - Accelerated Does anyone have any information about why the program is on hiatus starting Fall 2017? Also, does anyone know if ABSN students are required to compete the Upper Division Writing Requirement? English is my second language and I wonder how hard is it to pass the exam. The BSN catalog states that this is required but CSUN 2015-16 has the following information: Second Bachelor's students in the Nursing major do not need to complete the Upper Division writing proficiency requirement. Second Bachelor’s Degree Requirements Thanks so much for any information you can share!
  16. I have applied to the program but do not live in the LA area. I wonder, is there anyone that could share information about the program? What is the quality of the clinicals/teachers? How hard is it - what is the retention rate? Is there anything else that you can share about the program? I will be visiting LA in mid-March, is there any way to talk to the current students?
  17. Hi MondanaDeVonne, CNA thanks for sharing. Did you talk this person or is the information online? If online, can you please share the link? Here is a link to two of the comments I found: https://allnurses.com/arizona-nursing/new-entry-level-503724-page13.html https://allnurses.com/arizona-nursing/new-entry-level-503724-page10.html I plan on visiting the campus next week, hoping to talk to the current students, and I'll share here what I found out.
  18. Thanks for sharing this Crimsonstarr. Congratulations on getting in!
  19. Thank you so much for the info efz37. I'm glad to hear that the clinical experiences were great. So Phoenix cohort attends the courses by skype. Wow. I wonder if students are able to ask questions. I was really hoping for a regular classroom experience. Thanks again for sharing this.
  20. I read the posts on allnurses - previous cohorts. If you google MEPN Arizona, allnurses, you should be able to find them. one of the posts shared that some of the courses are online and that teachers read from publisher slides. I hope to have a committed/caring/accessible faculty and i wonder if the UA experience will offer that. Do you have any information about the program?
  21. I just got admitted to Phoenix. It's disappointing as I was hoping to get into Tucson. As I have other options, I'm deciding whether or not to accept the admission offer I have so many questions. I'm hoping the any of the current students can share their experience. Is there any difference between the two locations in terms of quality of clinical experience, teachers, cost of living, driving....? Are you satisfied with the program? Is there a lot of writing. How demanding is the program. Are the teachers committed to student learning? Is there anything else that the entering students should know. Thanks so much for sharing any information about the program. I live in California and plan on visiting the campus next week. Would anyone be willing to meet with me to share their experience with the program? If you have time, I'd love to treat you to lunch/dinner. Also, is there a regularly scheduled time/location (class or clinical) where I would be able to meet with the current students?
  22. I got accepted to Phoenix even though I specified Tucson preferred on my application. This is disappointing. Those of you that got into Tucson, what did you say on your application? Is there much difference in terms of classes/clinical experiences between the two locations? Some of the posts that I read online are quite discouraging. Did you guys talk to the current students about their experience with the program? Can anyone offer any insights?
  23. I also got an interview over skype. Good luck everyone! I am not able to attend the interview workshop, does anyone has any tips on how to prepare?
