  1. I most likely will go to the Wednesday orientation. You?
  2. Congrats!! I just got my acceptance email as well. I am also CGCC/NAU! I am so relieved. I feel like I can finally breathe. I looks like the acceptance letters are starting to go out out more frequently. Hopefully everyone gets the good news they have been waiting for.
  3. I'm not 100% sure on the curriculum difference between ASU and NAU. However, I did hear from a current nursing student that with NAU's program, you have to take classes in person at their North Phoenix campus, but only that first semester. After the first semester, everything else is online. At first, the thought of driving from Gilbert to North Phx didn't sound appealing, but then my friend explained that you are learning vitals and going in person gives you hands on experience. She said that experience made her more confident during the block one nursing. NAU's pre-reqs look intense, but they can be fulfilled if you complete an AGEC-A. I would consider speaking with an advisor to see what classes you need in order to meet the requirements for the AGEC. If you only have to take one or two more classes, then it may be worth it.. It will at least open up your options. Also, when I was comparing the brochures for both schools, it looked like ASU's courses ran a semester longer. From my understanding, NAU ends at the same time as the Maricopa classes. I applied for both universities and will be happy with either one, but I think NAU may be better (and cheaper). :) Hope that helps.
  4. Thanks for all the updates! For the community colleges, I have CGCC as my first choice and Mesa as my second. For the universities, I have NAU and #1 and ASU as #2. I still haven't heard anything. Congrats to those that have been placed! You must be beyond excited!!
  5. Thanks for that update, Brooklynn0204! I haven't heard anything from either school! At least now I know somewhat of a time frame of when to expect news. :)
  6. Thank you, Aavargas13! Good luck to you as well! I created a separate post for us May applicants (titled: May 2016 CEP applicants)... Another person posted that she heard from an NAU rep last week and they told her that they won't be informing students for another two weeks! :/
  7. Hi Everyone, For those that have applied in May to the CEP program through MCCCD, it is almost time to learn our fate! We should hopefully be hearing within the next week or so if we have been accepted to the program and where we will be placed. I wanted to create this topic as a way to keep each other updated. I know I am anxious to hear good news and I am sure there are many others that have not stopped refreshing their emails. Good luck to everyone! And feel free to post! * I did not find this topic elsewhere, but if there is one already started, please let me know and I will delete this one*
  8. Hi Ashleymariee! As of now, I haven't heard anything from either school. I was told that we should hear something around the third week if June.. I plan to be as patient as possible through this week, but will be reaching out to my advisor first thing next week if I don't hear anything! :)
  9. Alright! You are so close! I really enjoyed BIO205. It ended up being my favorite class. I applied for NAU and ASU with NAU as my first choice. I hear that CEP has gained a lot of popularity so it's possible that some students may not be placed :/ Have you already received your time stamp, or are they not doing that anymore?
  10. January will be here in no time! I applied for CEP in May. If placed, I should start the MCCCD block in Spring 2017. How many more pre-reqs do you have left before you can apply?
  11. Hi!! I submitted my CEP app at CGCC for ASU and NAU on 05/18. I was told not to expect to hear anything till at least the third week of June. I am getting anxious though! I can't help but constantly refresh my email.
  12. Where did you see that you can start the NAU classes in block three? I have been trying to locate this info on the website, but with no luck. My timestamp is Oct 2015 (not sure the exact day) and if selected this Spring, I'll have to make some decisions. I really want to do the CEP (will be applying in May), I have been looking forward to that program since I applied, but I also want to get started on the actually Nursing part ASAP. Decisions. Decisions. :/
