  1. Thank you so much for this post! I'll graduate in May and I'm already feeling anxious for the AANP/FNP test. I already have the Leik and Fitzgerald review books and they served me well during my core classes. I'm looking forward to trying the Leik app and taking the Fitzgerald review course. Congratulations on passing the exam!!
  2. I've been working full time as a nurse for 5 years now, and I do have expensive taste in clothes/shoes, etc. Luckily, I grew up knowing the value of a dollar and when I started working, I set up a separate checking account just for shopping, nice makeup, getting my hair/nails done...basically all the girly non-essentials. I pay myself into that checking account every time I get paid (as well as pay into multiple savings accounts). I only buy for myself out of this account, and if I want something and the account is drained...I don't buy it. During this time I paid off credit card debt, saved a ton of money, and bought a brand new car (Subaru) which is completely paid for. This method has worked great for me and the only debt I still have is student loans.
  3. Congratulations!! I just passed this morning and I found it to be easier than I anticipated. Still heavy on hemodynamics, cardiac meds, ABG interpretation - but it was all pretty straightforward. Good luck to all who are studying!
  4. I am actually appalled at this comment! 2 years of med-surg experience will most certainly be beneficial for so many reasons...confidence in assessments and clinical judgment, critical thinking, time management....the list goes on. To believe that she has nothing to gain from her experience that will assist her in any career path she chooses is simply untrue.
