Thank you adairfletch. I will have a car. 20 minutes doesn't seem like too much of a commute.

Applying for Duke ABSN fall 2016
Paid my deposit! Its official! I'm from the west coast, anyone have advice on housing or good areas to look? I'm also leaning towards the idea of a roommate. Is there a place to search for potential housemates? Thanks!

UTMB Fall 2016
I recieved an interview as well. I am currently in WA and a last minute flight could be frighteningly expensive. Does anyone know if they offer online or phone interviews? I really don't want to lose this opportunity

UTMB Fall 2016
Just to make sure I'm not missing something.... Are y'all receiving the notifications via your personal email? Do you have a UTMB email?

UTMB Fall 2016
Im assuming the first wave of acceptance would be UTMB's first pick in students. As prospective students choose not to attend they offer those spots to applicants next on the list.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Nursing Application Spring 2016 -- Any Questions?
Hello! I applied to the Fall 2016 Accelerated BSN. Any idea of when decisions will be sent out? Also when do I register for the two prereq classes needed before the start of the program?

UTMB Fall 2016
Thank you for the encouraging words! I did contact NursingCAS a few times to inquire about the status of my transcripts. I submitted official transcripts Jan 3rd and they were verified Feb 10th. I'm happy to hear UTMB allows a little wiggle room in the timeline of verification. I may be studying alongside some of you after all. If accepted, I'll be moving from WA. Anyone else from out of state?

UTMB Fall 2016
I also applied for Fall and have not heard anything back yet. There was an issue with my transcripts being verified before the deadline so I'm assuming that may have messed up my chances. My stats: 3.75 overall 3.8 Science/math 91 TEAS I don't have hands on healthcare experience, but i did work in a military hospital and an assisted living facility in non medical roles.Congrats everyone with interviews and good luck!!!

Texas A&M Corpus Christi ABSN Fall 2016
Hola! I haven't found a thread for Fall 2016 ABSN applicants so I decided to create one. I just submitted my application a few days ago and am very excited to potentially make the move to Texas. Any fellow applicants? Or TAMUCC graduates that would be willing to share their insight or opinions of the program?

Applying for Duke ABSN fall 2016
I think I read Duke's ABSN program has about a 40% acceptance rate with 600+ applications. Not sure how that math works. My plan is to apply to every scholarship I find including HRSA. If that doesn't work, then apply to hospitals after graduation that offer tuition reimbursement. As far as I know the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program is also available to nurses who work in "public service" positions for 10 years. Are there "cheaper" ABSN programs? The ones I've looked into are all about $60k+ in tuition. But I also have to pay out of state tuition in most cases. I'm in WA now and there are basically only 2 BSN programs (UW and WSU) to choose from.

Applying for Duke ABSN fall 2016
Hello! I applied to Duke's ABSN Fall 2016 cohort. I'm surprised this thread hasn't had many people join the conversation. Maybe there isn't a huge pool of applicants? Any applicants with certifications or experience as CNA?

Johns Hopkins 2015 ABSN & Masters Entry
CPN2012, I am applying to JHU SON for summer 2016. I spoke with admissions and they gave me a vague yet encouraging reply when I inquired about the competitiveness and likelihood of acceptance into the program. I was told they have a 40% acceptance rate and the average GPA is 3.4. That seems awfully low for such an amazing school. Any insight you can provide as to what to emphasis and showcase in the application? Also what was the demographic of your cohort? would you agree with the 3.4 GPA? Any wisdom is much appreciated! Thank you!
