  1. Thank you for the information. My current deployment is 6 days on, 1 off. It's tough, but I'm enjoying helping and making a difference and the pay is hard to turn down. I'll look at those companies and keep an eye out, but take it with a grain of salt as well. I'll most likely be in my position now for a couple more months or however long my body can hold out.
  2. I'm currently deployed to Texas doing Covid 19 crisis nursing. I'm really enjoying what I am doing and I'm in a position to do something of this nature on a regular basis, even after the pandemic is better controlled. I know hospitals staff with agency nurses during strikes and what not and I'm interested in doing this as well. I'd also be interested in being deployed during disaster situations. I'm in the position of being able to leave on a minutes notice and stay for extended periods of time. Does anyone do this or know who to get in touch with to start preparing for such a thing? Who can I contact and who are the reputable companies? Send me a private message if you prefer. Thank you
  3. Is icufaq.org still relevant, current, and up to date? I'm transitioning to the ICU and found that website. I see the book is available and I'm considering purchasing it for a resource. However, Amazon is selling the 2nd edition dated 2004. I know some stuff doesn't change and after a brief glance, looks relevant. I just want to make sure it's still good practice and updated information. Thank you

I have been to Hawaii several times as a traveler and this is pretty much standard...as with any travel contract for the most part. However, when i was in Maui, they would indeed schedule you on the occasional evening shift if they needed the coverage. This wasn't the norm, but i definitely was told it was a possibility and i did work a couple night shifts. If it's an absolute deal breaker, i would make sure before you agreed to a contract.
