Clinic NPs, how many admin hours do you have?
My clinic schedules patients from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM (sometimes 4:45 PM). We get whatever time we have between the last patient and 6:00 PM to chart. Does that count as admin time? For those who have admin time, can you describe your patient schedule and admin schedule please? For those who do not have admin time, does that mean patients are scheduled all throughout clinic opening time and closing time and you don’t have any time where patients are not scheduled?

Bad pop up
To confirm that you got the bad pop up, did it decline your card or take the $200 payment?

Nclex april 2018
@lexilove Did it take $200 from you? You might not have done the whole PVT trick completely unless you submitted payment or got your card declined.

Renewal application: looking for input
I would call the BRN and ask for official results in the form of a letter in the mail. I'm wondering how you were able to apply for the BRN and pay for Pearson before receiving a letter in the mail.

Pvt trick
The good news is that you did not get the bad pop up. From my understanding, you have not completed the PVT trick all the way through. You have to submit again in order to find out if you get the good pop up or bad pop up.

@brightfutureRN Did your credit card get declined or did it accept your payment of $200?

Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017
Are there any other differences between NHSC and NCSP, specifically the work commitment (locations, type of facility, etc)?

Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017
From last year's thread: "I believe that only Finalists get credit checks... After reading through the HRSA application review page, I believe that they finished scoring on July 15th... I don't think that they would check everyone's credit knowing who the finalists are. BUT, applicants are not only scored but also ranked, on a scale from 1-5. I believe that this means that 1st priority applicants will receive notification first, followed 2nd priority applicants, and so on, until all funds are exhausted. I think that this is why some of last year's applicants whose credit was checked did not receive a scholarship."--MissPatricia I think MissPatricia has a point! This year, they finished scoring us on 7/5/16 (HRSA Review Information), and we got our credits checked on 7/15/16. I'm going to hold on to the hope that credit checks are a good sign! At least that will get me through the radio silence of the weekend.

Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017
Going off of previous years drives me nuts! Last year, there was a 1 week turnaround between credit checks and award emails. In 2014, there was literally a 1 day turnaround! Is there a trend here? Will we have to wait a lot more than 1 week this year??

Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017
Do you think something is supposed to happen tomorrow? Last year, the first credit check was 7/28/15, and the first award notification was 8/3/15 (credit: dianearc). That was only 6 days apart! This year, our first credit check was 7/15/16, so I was hoping the first award notification would happen today, but alas nothing!

From the guidelines PDF: "Notification of Award Individuals selected for awards will receive a Confirmation of Interest email/letter no later thanSeptember 30, 2016. To accept the award, an applicant must respond by the deadline indicatedin the Confirmation of Interest email/letter. If the applicant does not respond to the NURSECorps Scholarship Program by that deadline, the offer of award expires and will be offered to analternate. Applicants who respond by the deadline will be asked to: 1) sign the NURSE CorpsScholarship Program contract, 2) complete the online banking form for direct deposit, 3)complete the Enrollment Verification Form, 4), ) complete the W-4 form. A credit check willalso be performed on each applicant's behalf. Awards are subject to the availability of funds. Applicant award notifications will begin in late August and continue through September,2016. All applicants will be notified of their final award status no later than September 30,2016." Credit check mentioned! Also, we have to wait until late August?? Anyone know what the 2015 PDF said about notification dates and if those were true?

My Equifax report on Credit Karma shows a credit inquiry by CREDCO on July 15th now! It finally updated!! When I checked annualcreditreport.com, I only checked Transunion. I should've checked all 3 reports that were available. For those who think they haven't been credit checked, it might just not be showing up where you are checking!

Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017
I checked my Transunion report on annualcreditreport.com, and the last inquiry was on 7/14 from KARMATRANSUNION. Guess nothing from NCSP yet. Thanks for all the tips! Just gonna keep waiting...

What website do you guys use to check credit scores? I have Credit Karma, but it says it won't update for another 2 days. Is it true that hard pulls should update immediately? In that case, maybe my credit was not checked :'(

Do we go to the student's store at the main campus or somewhere at the Monrovia campus to try on the uniforms? Thanks for all the helpful tips!

For those who had their credits checked, did you apply for both NHSC and NCSP? If so, how can you tell which one ran the credit check?

Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017
Thank you SO much for posting this!!! It sounds like all of the initial award recipients were already nursing students. Were there also many recipients later on who had not started nursing school yet or does preference go to those who are already in the middle of a nursing program?

For those who have had inquiries, what credit report website do you use? I just signed up for CreditKarma. Is there a place I can check to see if inquiries have ever been done? Thanks!

Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017
On the Application and Program Guidance PDF, it says: "After creating an account, the applicant should use his/her Applicant ID # (not his/her social security number) on all required uploaded supporting documents" (pg. 30). "The applicant must provide his/her applicant ID number generated by the application at the top of each document" (pg. 34). "The applicant must include the Applicant ID number generated by application at the top of each document" (pg. 35). Hope that eases your stress a little!

Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017
Hey everyone! I applied this cycle too and wanted to ask how you guys formatted your resumes. Did you have a few bullet points for each experience or did you write a short paragraph? Also, how many pages was your entire resume document? I have always been advised to keep my resume to 1 page, but now I'm wondering if I formatted it incorrectly for this application. Thanks!

I applied this cycle and wanted to ask those who were successful last year: how was your resume formatted? Did you have a few bullet points for each experience or did you write a short paragraph? Also, how many pages was your entire resume document? I have always been advised to keep my resume to 1 page, but now I'm wondering if I formatted it incorrectly for this application and if I should have been more descriptive. Thanks!

UCLA MECN 2016
Rhonda's acceptance email gave us a deadline to respond to her about our decision, but is there also a deadline to submit the SIR? And does anyone know any information about the deposit? Thanks in advance!

UCLA MECN 2016
I need some advice and made a separate thread for this but didn't get any responses, so I'm hoping to get some help from you guys here. I got into both UCLA's MECN and APU's ELM programs and need some help deciding. APU -RN, BSN & MSN-NP or MSN-CNS -3-4 years (depending on track) -$90,000+ tuition UCLA -RN & MSN-CNL -2 years -$50,000+ tuition I was unclear about APU's advanced practice MSN vs UCLA's generalist MSN, but I did some research and found out that NPs have some prescriptive authority and provide more direct patient care, whereas CNLs have more of a managerial role coordinating care. UCLA's hospital network and reputation are obvious draws, but I'm wondering what can be said about the CNL certification vs the NP/CNS licensure. Do you guys know what the job prospects are between those types of nurses? Do you plan on getting NP certification after the MECN program? APU's program looks very appealing but attending UCLA does too, so help please!
