Nurses as Holistic Patients
Self-care is one of the philosophies of holistic nursing! How? Well, that depends on the nurse since each one is a different. For example. I use aromatherapy, music, singing, gardening, skin care, massage, and reading as a part of my self-care skills. Having great experiences in these skills, I can then share with my patients and educate them how there can be many ways to perform self-care to promote healing and mental wellness.

TEAS VI without A&P, Micro, and Bio possible to pass?
I'm planning on taking mine sometime next month. i talked to a girl who graduated from Grossmont's nursing program that she just used the manual from the ati website. I'm still freaking out about the exam as well and how in dept I'm needing to know the science portion. There is one part that was wrong in the ati study manual. On the integumentary system, it said that "sweat is produced by sebaceous gland" but its the sudoriferious glands that produces sweat; sebaceous produces sebum. My a&p book and google helped me a lot. I bought the ati practice exams and i'll be taking one of them and see which i need to improve on.

96% on the ATI TEAS Exam - Perfect Math/Science Score (also ATI Prep Course Review)
Thank you so much for responding! I did very well on the science courses, but I'm I'm touching up on things because its been about 2 years sine I've taken them. Studying has been easy though cause the information are like refreshers for me. WOW! Congratulations on such a high score!!!!! I want to aim for at least at 87 or 88! To be honest, the math is the one mainly stressing me out. I am not so fond of math. How was the math portion of the TEAS 6?

96% on the ATI TEAS Exam - Perfect Math/Science Score (also ATI Prep Course Review)
Thank you so much for posting this! I've been studying like crazy for the TEAS exam. I was going to a private BSN program, however i could not afford the $56k+ tuition! I only finished a year and now im in the process of transferring over to a ADN program because I can afford the tuition, haha. I have a question in regards to the TEAS 6 exam: 1) Did it have any sections where it showed pictures of bones/muscles/brain etc. and asking what it was? 2) How in DEPTH are you talking about when it comes to the science section? -How I'm studying right now is by using the ATI TEAS 6 Manual and this ATI crash course I bought in the microsoft store. I've taken Anatomy Physiology 1, 2 and 3, Microbiology, General Biology, Intro to Inorganic/Biochem, and Intro to Organic chem. When I took these courses my instructor reallllyyyyy made me work for knowledge. We were going in depth of details until you couldnt go in details anymore. That's why I'm nervous with my method of just relying on the ATI 6 TEAS Manual as well as the ATI crash course I bought because I'm scared the information is not enough and it is not detailed enough. I just don't want to waste my time studying the very fine details when I don't need to because I could be focusing on other topics that I am weak at. Thank you again! Peace and Love! Mike Valdez

Nursing program question
0Hello! I've recently graduated at a community college with an associates degree in pre-nursing allowing me to apply to multiple nursing programs in Washington state. I applied at SPU but didn't get in. They only take about 10 transfer students out of 65. Although I did get an admission acceptance at PLU, I won't know if I get into the school of nursing until before June. Now I will try to apply to community colleges for an ADN but I'm confuse on the regulations of a program that is uncredited. for example: south puget sound community college offers a program but is not accredited. If I were to complete SPSSC's nursing program what are my chances of being hired for say. However, if I continue my education and apply to a BSN program prior to completing my ADN program at SPSCC, will this conclude into my ADN from an unaccredited school, be replaced by the BSN degree I chose to transfer to that is accredited? I'm not sure if that makes sense but that's the best way I can explain it. If I don't get into any of the ADN program, I plan to apply at technical colleges to obtain my certicate of being a licensed practical nurse. Then just work my way up. This year is just my trial, these are all the informations I've gathered through research and asking questions with nurse advisors, so if none works out I'll just try again next year. Im currently working as a med tech/CNA at an assisted living, I might transfer to the convalesce and rehabilitation center to work with an RN so I could get a letter of recommendation. Sorry for the lengthy post. I have this end goal of becoming a nurse educator. And I'm kind of stressing out about getting accepted to one program. -_-

Nursing student in need of advice.
Oh, well at my school, Associate's in Pre-Nursing is a transfer degree to get into a university. You are not eligible for any NCLEX exam because the classes you take is basically the pre-reqs for a BSN program.

Nursing student in need of advice.
Hello there! I am a second year nursing student attending a local community college for my Associate's in Pre-Nursing. I need advice from my fellow nurses on which path I should take to become a registered nurse. Becoming an RN is my first step in my nursing career. I live with my parent's and do not have many financial responsibilities. I do not mind being a full-time student, and I do not need a job right away. I currently have my C.N.A, and I work for an in-home caregiving with clients who are disabled, by the way, this is just a summer job so I can save up for nursing school. What are some of your thoughts about going for ADN vs. APN vs. BSN? Thank you :)
